Theresa, If I got a pass from you for the club area would I be locked in till the end of each day. Although I Have booked the 3 days off work my missus hasn't. . I will probably have to leave about 2pm on saturday to collect her from work and bring her to the event, unless I can persuade one of my sisters to collect her. . Having never been there before I am not sure how things are done, I never even knew about the passes.

They say you can't leave until the end of the day/show, which is about 5pm, due to cars running on the track.

Last year, we were located near the entry/exit gate, so was easy to escape early.

I know the car clubs are on the Polo Straight, but they still haven't sent me details of our exact location yet and we are also going in through a different gate this year, so I really don't know if it will be possible to get away early yet

They change how things happen every year, so I can never really assume anything with them

Nice that this show had a mention on Top Gear earlier

Car washed, detailed, odd stone chips touched up and completely polished - now just need to avoid the bad weather between now and then!!

Those who have bought tickets are allowed the access they have paid for and should have received tickets, HOWEVER, all the car passes have been sent to me.

You need one of the car passes to be allowed access through to the Club stand, to display your Coupe, otherwise, you'll be directed to a general public car park.

Entry through to the Club stands is not guaranteed after 8am, so we will be meeting up beforehand, in order for me to give you the car pass.

As with previous years, we will meet at the Cholmondely Arms at 7.30 am.

Hi Theresa. Do the car passes have specific details on them, like names and dates for entry? I've just looked at my tickets and they say they are for Friday when I thought I'd ordered the Saturday ones

No, there's no specific details on these passes, so you'll be ok

Yes, definately ring them tomorrow and they should be able to sort things out.

Orders online are still being taken, so I don't think you'll have a problem with them sending new ones out to you.

yes T no problem. I'll get to the cholmondeley arms for about 7.30 Friday morning. I wont be able to put my car in the club area on saturday and sunday though as we are camping with some friends and I need to be able to get away when required.

When we arrived, after finding our pitch right at the end, I thought we only been given a poxy triangular piece of brown grass that would only fit two cars at the front and was swarming with some sort of flying insect.

I soon remedied that by moving our numbered post to the bottom, with Johnny and I moving our cars lower down and taking what I thought should be ours (which it seems it is anyway lol)

Great to meet you Theresa as well as Pinin, thanks for sorting everything out. Had a great day out with the family and was the first coupe event i've been on. Good to see us Spinties dominating our area!!

Had a fantastic day out on saturday, Nice to meet you Nigel, Jonny and it was good to see T again after years. The weather wasn't good at first but it cleared up after an hour and stayed like that, bar the odd ten minute shower. Big shout to T for arranging these great days out and for dragging herself up at the crack of dawn to hand the car passes out. You are appreciated!

I got in about 30 minutes ago

Thanks to all for coming along and was good to see you all again.

Todays (Sundays) weather was terrible and hardly stopped raining all day, but besides that, it wasn't a bad day until we left.

Rob40's car was only firing on four when we left, so him and I pulled onto a bit of road for a quick look, but was too dangerous to stay there really.

Seemed like a coil pack had gone down, so Rob rang Porkypaul to see if he had any spares, which he did and said he'd bring some back to us.

Rob and I decided to head back to the morning meeting point of the Cholmondely Arms, which has a nice big car park to wait in and a bit of warmth, etc.

On the way back to the pub, due to all the event traffic leaving, police were directing everyone a different way, but we needed to go straight on.

The policeman stopped me and imagine my surprise when he came up to my window and said 'as you're from the Coupe forum, I'll let you carry on' I obviously looked shocked and he then told me he'd had a couple of Coupes in the past Told us we could carry on through, but to be careful due to the traffic pulling out, etc.
So, a big thanks to that policeman for letting us do that

Another thanks goes out to porkypaul for bringing some spare coils packs back for Rob and staying with us for a bit, trying to sort the problem - bigger problem than we thought, due to the wiring, etc

The next thanks goes to ktm (Rob) for coming from Birkenhead with some different coil packs and also trying to sort the problem, as well as trying to sort something out with the Rac.

In the meantime, a couple of the lads from the Cholmondely Arms and one was also a marshall who had directed us into the show throughout the weekend, came out to help.
So, many thanks to Tom who stayed chatting to me and kept his headlights on Robs car, so we could see in the dark and many thanks to Luke who eventually got Robs car running properly again

Also thanks to Jbt, Taffy, Barbz and whoever else we rang for help/advice

Ktm, I hope you get back to Birkenhead safely and Rob40, I hope you get back to Carlisle safely and without further trouble.
Also thanks to Rob for my coffees at the pub while we waited and for the spare fags to make sure I had enough to see me home
