Plans for 2011 are well underway, with the announcement that the event will be extended to include the Friday “Preview Day”.

Those able to attend will witness the impressive car and bike entry completing practice laps and will obtain privileged access into the Paddock.

The 10 complimentary tickets arrangements as in previous years will be replaced with free access to the Friday Preview Day (for those purchasing Saturday/Sunday tickets) as well as a comprehensive 60% discount (reducing Paddock tickets from £25 to £15 per person).

Camping will be free on the Thursday and Friday nights.

These are the discount codes, please make sure you follow all instructions and enter them!

I was going to bump this thread up tomorrow anyway, to mention that people have until the end of April to get their tickets at the cheaper rate.

I'd recommend this, was a great weekend! camping was easy and close by, and if you go to the pub down the road you might get to meet the organisers, or the guy who bashed one of the 250k Wheatcroft collection..

Would recommend the paddock tickets, get to wander around all the cars in park ferme.

Will try and get mine sorted for this again, as long as we don't wreck anyone else's stand again...

I discussed with the organiser of the Lancia Club, about maybe getting all the Italian car stands together and mentioned it to the Alfa Romeo Owners Club last year too, as they were already next to us.

Tried using the discount codes and they dont seem to work. tried calling PP and their offices are only open sat morning.
has anyone successfully managed to order discounted tickets?

Just tried using the codes as well - no joy . Have left a voicemail at their offices and will await a reply (likely to be Tue earliest)

I ordered my tickets the other day, using the codes and the code I needed worked.

Seems as though the deadline for the best discount was before today, meaning it ended at midnight.

The tickets are slightly dearer now, but the codes should still work, as using the code still gives better discount than buying them normally.

Although, I have just done a test purchase and they aren't working, as we should still get a discount.

If you could both let me know how you get on, when you hear back from them on Tuesday, that would be helpful and if you have no joy, I'll get in touch with them too.

I've yet to buy mine, only got paid friday. Hope the discount works!

Looks as though the cheapest discount ended at midnight last night, as it seems it was before the 30th, not by the 30th

Will try and get the codes sorted, as they should still work, as even though there's a bit less discount, they should still work to give us a cheaper rate than general members of the public.

I sent them an email stating that the code did not work on Saturday and followed it up with a phone call yesterday and they let me have my tickets at the Club discounted prices Result!

This is now only two weeks away

Those of you who have bought tickets, should have now received them from the organisers.

Again, the organisers have thought of another strange way of doing things

Those who have bought tickets are allowed the access they have paid for and should have received tickets, HOWEVER, all the car passes have been sent to me.

You need one of the car passes to be allowed access through to the Club stand, to display your Coupe, otherwise, you'll be directed to a general public car park.

Entry through to the Club stands is not guaranteed after 8am, so we will be meeting up beforehand, in order for me to give you the car pass.

As with previous years, we will meet at the Cholmondely Arms at 7.30 am.

Cheers Adam I don't know why they couldn't have put the passes in with the tickets, as we had to state Fiat Coupe Club on the form when ordering them.
I know they have a lot to organise, but this seems to be a more complicated way of doing things.

The organisers will be advertising the event on the tv from Monday.

The TV ad campaign lasts just over a week and the first advertisements start appearing in the Granada region on Monday 4th July at 6.45pm after the ITV early evening news.

I can't believe more people aren't coming along to this? It's a fantastic day out and it's a rare opportunity to see some very rare cars in action.

Do we need to stick the location in the title of this thread? Alert all the local coupe owners this event is happening, not everyone knows where Cholmondeley is I suppose?

I would have thought there would be a good turnout for this one?

Adam, all people need to do is Google it and they'll find the website. I didn't know where it was until I looked

Most people here spend all day next to a computer, so not too hard a job to do.

The location is also the title of the show itself and knowing what people can be like, then stating Malpas or Cheshire Pageant of Power will probably confuse people too

If everyone on the list turns up on Saturday, then that will be the best turn out this Club has managed for this show.

Granted, it can work out expensive, but with the Club's discount codes, it's not as bad.

Although, last year, the tickets were free for the first 10 cars and I couldn't even get 10 people on the list

I can only assume it's the distance for most people or that people can't be arsed

Theresa, If I got a pass from you for the club area would I be locked in till the end of each day. Although I Have booked the 3 days off work my missus hasn't. . I will probably have to leave about 2pm on saturday to collect her from work and bring her to the event, unless I can persuade one of my sisters to collect her. . Having never been there before I am not sure how things are done, I never even knew about the passes.

They say you can't leave until the end of the day/show, which is about 5pm, due to cars running on the track.

Last year, we were located near the entry/exit gate, so was easy to escape early.

I know the car clubs are on the Polo Straight, but they still haven't sent me details of our exact location yet and we are also going in through a different gate this year, so I really don't know if it will be possible to get away early yet

They change how things happen every year, so I can never really assume anything with them

When we arrived, after finding our pitch right at the end, I thought we only been given a poxy triangular piece of brown grass that would only fit two cars at the front and was swarming with some sort of flying insect.

I soon remedied that by moving our numbered post to the bottom, with Johnny and I moving our cars lower down and taking what I thought should be ours (which it seems it is anyway lol)

Had a fantastic day out on saturday, Nice to meet you Nigel, Jonny and it was good to see T again after years. The weather wasn't good at first but it cleared up after an hour and stayed like that, bar the odd ten minute shower. Big shout to T for arranging these great days out and for dragging herself up at the crack of dawn to hand the car passes out. You are appreciated!

I got in about 30 minutes ago

Thanks to all for coming along and was good to see you all again.

Todays (Sundays) weather was terrible and hardly stopped raining all day, but besides that, it wasn't a bad day until we left.

Rob40's car was only firing on four when we left, so him and I pulled onto a bit of road for a quick look, but was too dangerous to stay there really.

Seemed like a coil pack had gone down, so Rob rang Porkypaul to see if he had any spares, which he did and said he'd bring some back to us.

Rob and I decided to head back to the morning meeting point of the Cholmondely Arms, which has a nice big car park to wait in and a bit of warmth, etc.

On the way back to the pub, due to all the event traffic leaving, police were directing everyone a different way, but we needed to go straight on.

The policeman stopped me and imagine my surprise when he came up to my window and said 'as you're from the Coupe forum, I'll let you carry on' I obviously looked shocked and he then told me he'd had a couple of Coupes in the past Told us we could carry on through, but to be careful due to the traffic pulling out, etc.
So, a big thanks to that policeman for letting us do that

Another thanks goes out to porkypaul for bringing some spare coils packs back for Rob and staying with us for a bit, trying to sort the problem - bigger problem than we thought, due to the wiring, etc

The next thanks goes to ktm (Rob) for coming from Birkenhead with some different coil packs and also trying to sort the problem, as well as trying to sort something out with the Rac.

In the meantime, a couple of the lads from the Cholmondely Arms and one was also a marshall who had directed us into the show throughout the weekend, came out to help.
So, many thanks to Tom who stayed chatting to me and kept his headlights on Robs car, so we could see in the dark and many thanks to Luke who eventually got Robs car running properly again

Also thanks to Jbt, Taffy, Barbz and whoever else we rang for help/advice

Ktm, I hope you get back to Birkenhead safely and Rob40, I hope you get back to Carlisle safely and without further trouble.
