It's about time we got some regular coupe meet action going on the South Coast. Goodwood Breakfast Club is soon to start on another great year of free Sunday morning events and a couple of us are going to help get a regular meet off the ground as there's not much going on - so get your names down and come and meet up.

The Breakfast Club runs on the first Sunday of the month from 8am to 12pm. It doesn't run the months of the Goodwood Revival or Festival of Speed. Proposing to have a meet point a few miles away at about 7.30am, and convoy over to Goodwood through some gloriously empty roads so that we can park up together and have a good coupe natter before we disperse and look at the event.

The Breakfast club is free entry. Goodwood have their own breakfast catering on site which is most definately not free.

This thread is for the 6th March event - the theme is Classics (The big one will be 1st May - Supercar Sunday). At least 2 of us will be there so get your names down and come and meet up.

Doing a track day here on the 19th, and am frequently in the area. For the 6th, put me down as a possible...

Mine too so don't let that put you off. We can't all have perfect paint after 12 years. I'm already experimenting on laquer removal and can show you how I'm doing smile

I might have to end up sitting this one out next Sunday and make the April one. as i lost my job this week. i still have the coop, dont want to sell her but if i have to i will.
if nothing promising job wise turns up this week i'll have to give this meet a miss as i dont want to even use the petrol in the car till i know whats going on.

Hopefully something positive will turn up and i'll be there next weekend, but sadly until i know i will have to go down as a maybe.

cheers, i do still have the coupe and am planning on hanging onto it. i just dont know where i stand financially yet. And although it has petrol in it, i may end up being in a position where i need that to get to and from a new job till i get paid etc. I'm just trying to be as sensible as i can money wise right now...

hopefully things will look better this week and i can make a decision then!

thanks for the offer! and i may yet take you up on it tongue.

cheers Dan.

An easy place is perhaps Sainsbury's carpark, or somewhere close like that. I would suggest getting there pretty early to avoid queuing. (Though as its the first of the year it probably won't be too bad).
Link to Map

A is sainsburys, B is the circuit, so its a nice close and easy to find place to meet. Just a suggestion though.

I'll try to clean my car up on Saturday ... smile

Shall we say meet 7.40am at sainsbury's?

I know there's only a few of us for this one but if anyone wants a quick run beforehand I'd be up for that. The A29 has a nice tree lined stretch that is made for the coupe, about 15 minutes away HERE - anyone want to meet there at 7.15am?

Also, if anyone needs any spares tell me - I have at least some coils, an injector, and a maf spare at the mo that I'm going to list for sale shortly

I'm not going to be able to make this months. Will next months be over the easter holiday?

I'll also be on track at Goodwood on Saturday 19th March, if anyone wants to pop by that day they are welcome!

Wow early riser! smile Meeting at Whiteways for a blast down would be good, though not sure I would make it quite that early hehe! smile

One thing to note, the police know that lots of car enthusiasts go to these meetings so they like to get up early themselves and hang around the area. Don't plan on blasting it too much just in case. (Not that anyone on here speeds of course).

Yeah, thought they might! Cheers for the heads up - its one of those roads where 60 is just right to appreciate the 20v burble of the coupe

Cheers! I wouldn't queue jump - sounds like you have the passenger seat already well filled! What sort of time are you on track and I'll at least try to drop in if I can and watch some laps from the bank by the entrance. If the opportunity arises to find you and introduce myself then I will.

Have you done a track day there before? Is the circuit any good?

3rd April = Soft Top Sunday - I don't think this is Easter
1st May = SUPERCAR SUNDAY (which should be followed by the Black Rabbit IMO drink ) - although it is the day after Brooklands....

Will be on track between 9 and 4. Never done a track day at Goodwood before, when I used to live in Hove (before I started doing track days) I was always over there for the festival of speed and other events. Always wanted to go round, and in 3 weeks I'll get my chance.

Triumph TR6 Goodwood

The TR6 went well round here!

So what's the majority voting on this ?

1. 7.40am at sainsbury's?

2. 7.15am quick blast beforehand.

Personally I struggle to get out of bed early so would prefer option 1 but if the majority want no.2 i'll drag myself out earlier laugh

Personally I don't think we need to get there quite that early whichever option, but then again I don't really mind getting up early if that is what people decide.

I usually turn up at around 8.30 to the gates (earlier though on Supercar Sunday as that tends to be super busy).

Would be good to meet some fellow coupsters though, even if my car is the runt of the bunch and will make me feel jealous of you lot! wink

They do have, so long as you can take that second mortgage out on your house to pay for them. smile
