I'll be there! Newby Hall is in North Yorkshire, not far off the A1, half way between Boroughbridge and Ripon.

Tickets are pre-purchase only (I think), and are not expensive - £5.50 car plus driver, and £7 with a passenger. I'll be with my kids, so trips to the adventure playground will be taking place! If anyone else is interested, link

I took the liberty of putting myself down as being with FCCUK.

Can't believe this hasn't been brought up earlier! grr

A cracking Show with some decent motors in really nice surroundings.

Doubt I'll be able to make this on this kind of notice but I'll try my best.

Don't / shouldn't we have a bloody calender detailing these Shows then the Regional Reps can post up on here to give sufficient notice to people?

So bloody frustrating!!! banghead

Sorry Mansilla - that rant wasn't aimed at you. It was born out of the frustration of finding out about a cracking event that'll take place in just over a week. banghead

I'd known about this for ages, but I've only had the current Coupe for 3 weeks, and I've only decided I'm going to go today. Its been on the internet since autumn.

If anyone else comes along, great, I'll be pleased to see you. Previous events got a handful of Coops at best, which is probably why it dropped off the club radar. No problem with that. But it gets me into Newby for a cheap day out, and is a good excuse to take the Coupe for a run and park it near lesser machines like Ferraris, R8's, TVR's....

I'll probably go to the Harewood one later in the year, too. Slightly ominously its on September 11, but don't let that put you off!

Seeing as there's hardly ever any interest, I didn't think it was worth posting up about it, same with Harewood.

As a previous organiser of Harewood house MABR, I thought you would have received an email from them about Newby Hall earlier in the year, like we did last year:

I'll be doing the same with Tatton Park next year as well if there's the usual lack of interest (3 cars on the Saturday last year and two on the Sunday) rolleyes

This must be one of the worst car clubs for apathy in attending shows rolleyes

Is there anything that the regional reps can do to help this scenario??

Also, as the coupe population is constantly changing, wouldn't it be worthwhile just posting up all the possible events that have at least been attended at previously, to give new and old the reminder/choice to go?

Just a suggestion ?

Ross

When I was stripped of my Regional Rep status, I emailed the Show Organisers in my database to notify them of the situation so I'm no longer on Mailing Lists. frown

Predictably, there was just me flying the flag for the Coupe. Shame, but there you go.

About 300 cars turned up today, although about 60 of them were Z3's! It was like being in Chelsea in about 1998.

Also, plenty of TVR and MX5's, fair number of Porsche, and the remainder was a random assortment of all kinds of stuff. Including a kitted Ford Ka which looked like it had been driven off a cliff - not sure what that was doing there. Overheard a kid saying 'Daddy, why is that car smashed?' in earshot of the owner. He didn't look pleased.

Chatted to one bloke who had an Ink Black brand new, but he had had to sell that when he downgraded to an Aston Martin V12 Vantage. For some reason he did not seem to want to swap.

Also, Newby is really nice. The kids loved the adventure playground and the miniature railway. And to be fair I liked them too. I'll probably be there next year, and I'll start a thread about Harewood in July sometime. Someone remind me if I forget!

DAM... I was in York at the weekend. If I had known I could have persuaded my nephew to take me along in his Grande Punto rolleyes

Gone Audi mad!
