Andy, probably best if you make your way to the 3 compasses on your tod, I've got a house full of guests at the moment, so can't guarantee exactly what time I'll be heading off. wink

See you all tomorrow, at 8-8:15ish smile

Sorry guys. Been exhausting myself out trying to
finish our living room. Now 3 weeks of work !
Being too tired to get up early
(so tired it feels like flu -office boy) and pressure from
the misses to get the job done (under the kosh).

Hope you all have a good day, weather looks ok.

I'll check back tonight for pics.

Was an good day. The car side of the event was a bit dodgy, but the airplanes on display and the FCCUK company there made up for it. smile

Good to meet Did and Pondman for the first time too.

Bloomin typical that on the way back, one day after cleaning my car ( *ahem* having it cleaned), a cloud9 huge bird of prey mistook my coop for a mouse, swooped in from the right hand side and prompty turned from a solid into a liquid on my windscreen sick

Took a good bit of cleaning at the services to get rid. It was probably endangered too given how dumb it was.

Anyways, i'm nicely sunburnt. Cheers to Pondman for sorting me out with a ticket, see you next year as long as that stuupid Ford display team isnt there!

Fantastic day out, loved the flying displays, the cars, the banter and the different styled Coupes. All wearing different wheels for a change which was nice!

I've taken A LOT of photos and am processing them at the mo, I hope to have them up tomorrow at some point.

Nice to meet some new peeps and to have a catch up with old pals!

Excellent all round I feel, thanks again to Ross for organising it all and helping with my ticket situation and to Tim42 for also helping smile

I think the band added to the stupidity shocked Am I getting old, or was it "far too loud!" shout

Thanks all for making the effort to come along, I know you all came from near & far & wide. So thank you for making the effort wink It was a shame thet the Vulcan didn't make it and that the Arrows were grounded for obvious reasons. The flying displays were not quite up to their usual standard but the weather was better and the company was excellent as usual. Hope to see you all soon, probably next weekend at Tunbridge smile
Sorry for the delay in leaving, I was ensuring good relations with Lucy laugh wink

We wondered just what this aircraft was.

A search turned up the following on Wikipedia, so it may or may not be true.

Very enjoyable day out. Day started for us around 5.15am, getting my kids up ready for the day. Once Truffle was sorted out I could then move on to the 5 and 6 year olds rolleyes

Good 4 car convoy on the way there, with MiniMetaller, Senny Dave and Truffle, with only himself to have to get ready, still unable to meet at the rendezvous point for 6am. Still, we all got there together, in one piece, with no breakdowns to report
woohoo

Well, don't know about too loud, the band were simply god awful. The commentator for the afternoon car runway display wasn't really a car enthusiast, "motoring along very well" or similar, in a chocks away accent, I think was his only non-scripted comment. Still, a good day, with good company, and the kids enjoyed it too. Very tiring having to walk Truffle to and fro the toilet all day mind.

Shame about there being no Vulcan or Red Arrows, but the minutes silence in memory of the red arrows pilot was impeccably observed by all there, quite moving seeing the crowds stop and stand still, in silence.

*Now for the abuse continued part*

Ross - thanks for organising. You may well be getting old what with your loud music comment, but you're compensating for it by still getting down with da yoof with those blinging alloys shocked

Diddy - Nice to see you again. I've missed the quality and quantity of photos you take. That camera of yours must have an auto photoshop feature, it even made Senny Dave's plus look good smile Any chance of some of my car without the branding stamp in the corner?! See you same time, same place next year, another 3 or 4 cars down the line? tongue

Truffle - Despite seeing him twice in the week, still needed to text me at 5.35 in the morning to ask if there was anything vital he needed to bring with him banghead

MiniMetaller - Was pretty annoyed when spotting a 10 year old kid wearing the same hoodie as himself. I possibly made it worse by saying the kids would probably fit him too biglaugh

Senny Dave - God only knows how his "strawberry blonde" complexion is holding up today. My face feels like it's cracking up, and my other half looked like a root vegetable this morning!! Although I did very much enjoying polishing his rim in the afternoon lick

I've no abuse to pass on to Pete or Tim42 though, see, I'm a fair bloke, and it's nice to treat others as others treat you!

Good to meet and chat to Suba briefly too.

Few biased snaps of the day.

See some of you at Tonbridge next Sunday. Won't take much of my OCD time to clean Custard again for this one!

Good day out for me as well.

Didcoop - your car looks awesome, really makes me want a coupe again. cry

The RX7 went very well on the day, I managed to get 170 on the speedo on my last run (it does over-read a fair bit though.) Utterly destroyed one of the Marcos's in the afternoon session as well. laugh

I've got some in car video of the morning session, which I'll try and upload somewhere at the weekend.

It's a shame that I did not get to see a lot of the cars doing the runway runs, as I was busy queuing and waiting for my group to go out.... smile

I'll definitely be up for going next year.

Video of the first two runway runs here:

http://s11.photobucket.com/albums/a198/suba11/?action=view&current=rx7runway.mp4

The Video gets a bit wavy as the speed goes up - presumably the vibrations from the solid diff mounts, the camera was mounted directly above the diff. smile
