I'm thinking a nice drive from sunny Stoke too the scenic sights of Snowdonia and the Evo triangle.

Or we could do a run upto the peaks.

Midlands Meet

Booked the AA for yourself you mean, my car will be fine cool Unless you mean Alcoholics Anonymous laugh

I may drag my chunky butt along if I can spare some cash rolleyes

Makes no difference to me, where we go - driving around the Midlands and Peaks will cost me as much as driving around Snowdonia and the Evo Triangle, unless I just meet you at the triangle, do a lap around and go home laugh

evo would be great however its a bit of a hotspot these days with too many knob heads causing trouble from other car clubs.

Peaks would be great and means some nice photo opportunities laugh

It was ok when we last went up and at time of the year I doubt there will be too many prats.

Ah ok then, it's not too bad there laugh Pretty much straight on the by pass to Chester from there too.

£15 is a good price though, thought they always started from £19.

There is a Travelodge sale on at the moment - just checked and it is still £15 a night. Is this date and venue confirmed for everyone yet? I need JBT to do some work on my Scottie, so I could drop her off in Shepshed on the way back... birds, death, stones and numeracy, etc thumb

Put me down as a maybe. Putting a new engine in sometime in the next few weeks. Can make it as long as not much else needed. Will be cutting it a bit fine.

Don't worry. Will sort something out if I can make it. Not sure if I need a new turbo to go with engine. Won't find out until she is back together again.

It's usually heavy with police and speed cameras up there anyway, as it's biker heaven, especially in the summer.

It's often closed off now as it's usually unpassable due to snow at this time of year.
Shame for those lads that it wasn't closed frown

I wouldn't worry about the Zed, it can't be any worse than some of our Coupes lol, but even if it is, it'll still be good to see it and hope you come along cool

I won't be there on Saturday night folks. I will be up on Sunday morning for breakfast and a good drive; need to meet pinin to pick up the FMIC later, and I will stop overnight on Sunday on my way to JBTs on Monday to dump the Scottie for a few bits and pieces and a drive home in one of his esteemed vehicles (probably the Saxo).

What time do you plan to breakfast on Sunday morning?

Hi Everyone
We have recently moved house and I'm working away from Chester at the moment. Would love to join the trip but the Yellow Peril is in hibernation till long list of jobs (on the house not the car) is complete.
Have a great time.

I will take an executive decision tomorrow lunchtime; it's a long way up and a long way back, and I need to arrange a pickup from pinin prior to dropping my car off at JBTs on the way home. If any of these dominoes is likely to fall over I reckon the rest will topple quickly. I will be glued to the weather forecast tomorrow.... rolleyes .

I can't afford to get stuck anywhere as I have a full day's work scheduled for Tuesday (and I pick up my third Coupe on Wednesday laugh )......

Looks like the forecast is actually pretty good for Sunday now.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it now, due to the in-law's Citroen just breaking down and they are borrowing our Mundeo, so it's just the Fiat left to use for the family on Sunday frown

A severe weather warning for North East Wales at the moment, apparently. This covers the Wrexham area too.

More than 2" of snow expected between Midday and Midnight.

Might be lucky in Wrexham, as we seem to miss a lot of the bad weather, but don't know what it could be like on the Sunday, as we head up towards Snowdonia, etc.

Sorry folks, but I'm out. I needed to fit in N Wales with Leicester, and I needed to make a decision today. It is supposed to snow in Kent tomorrow as well, and I don't need to go through what Klaas endured last year.

Any chance of a postponement, as I'd love to do this run some other time? Good luck if you decide to continue, and I will see you all soon,

Tim

Sorry you can't make it Tim.

Paul has said there's a weather warning in place in Stoke too, so looks like we're all getting some snow tomorrow.

Will have to wait and see what happens tomorrow I suppose confused

.... especially now I'm about to join the Sprinty club crazy ???

I was trying to kill several birds with one stone; see North Wales (where I've never been), pick up my FMIC from Matt (pinin), see you 'orrible lot for a good drive and lunch, and drop the Scottie off at JBT's on Monday. I have parental responsibilities on Monday night, so can't afford to get stuck in the snow anywhere. I KNOW I could get through, but it's all the other ijjits.....

Love to do it some other time though,

Tim

I'm sure there will be another run out soon Tim.

The Alfa Owners Club often has a run out around April/May, so may be worth keeping an eye out on their forum and we could join them, they don't mind cool

I don't often get it right, but I think I made a wise decision. JBT has just texted me to say he has 20cm of snow in Shepshed, and Stoke looked fun. I've been up a few hours watching the cricket in sunny Abu Dhabi, and there was a guy on the radio who had taken 7 hours to do 27 miles on the M25 overnight.

See you soon; just hope it melts a bit for Wednesday when I pick the Sprinty up wink

If you'd all left yesterday afternoon, you would have missed the snow around your parts, got here, where's there's no snow, spent the day around North Wales (nice, sunny day today) and then headed back tonight or tomorrow, when the roads around your areas would be clear rolleyes

All in hindsight though laugh

The weather warnings for snow were completely wrong for around here yesterday grr

22 degrees on the beach today and clean 4ft waves with offshore winds.
I like to say the weather warnings crossed my mind but .....they didn't.
How many made it to the meet ?
