You can opt into the Motoring Demonstration as part of the Runway application. I have, as you can do part of the Top Gear Test Track. They do say that it is advisable that due to a grass parade, 6" ground clearance is nessesary. Club members who did the parade last year will hopefully advise otherwise.

Yes. Unfortunately the weather was against us that day. I think fifty per cent of the airshow side was scrapped.
Our runway run was unexpected but due to the lack of airshow time we ended up being a filler. Also hence the low speed run, we were not actually sure at the time that we were supposed to be there!
We just followed the lead.
I'm sure in a bright sunny day, it would be a very nice day out.

On a sunny day it is a very nice day out I think only about 10-20% of the aircraft made an appearance due to the appalling weather and low cloud. I still managed to do a speedo indicated 130mph though Now the weather can't do that to us twice, now can it  Thanks for posting the videos  What video system are you using? Nice touch with the map graphic and speed recording.

I'm not sure that we will have enough people for a static display area this year. Unless we get a surge of interest in the next couple of weeks, I won't be applying for a club zone. As tickets are only discounted, I suggest if you'd like to come just apply for advanced tickets and park with the rest.

OK, I have just spoken to them, they have an enormous cockup with their systems and have not got those of us who submitted an electronic entry down.
I have been asked to provide a list of real names to them asap to get things moving.
I know the real names of Pondman, Nismo, Thunderbox, begbie, hovedan,Cooperman, but I don't have the real name of Sharman.
Obviously they will need addresses to send tickets to so please pm them to me, as it is possible that the ones we have on the club membership database could be out of date.
EDIT I will also need registration numbers please.

Motoring Demonstrations
Important Notification
Dear Applicant
We have been overwhelmed by applications for the runway motoring demonstrations this year and recently the extent of a problem with some electronic entries which meant they were not registered at the time of application has become clear.
It has become necessary to limit the number of cars running on each day and therefore I have to inform you that it will not be possible to process your application.
Our sincerest apologies for this late development, rest assured that steps will be taken to prevent a recurrence for the 2015 event and that details of those who have been affected by this will be noted so they can be given suitable priority treatment for next years event.
By way of apology we would like to offer 2 complimentary Adult Day ticket(s) for this years event. If you would like to receive these please advise the name and address to which they should be sent by e-mail to eventsadmin@brooklandsmuseum.com.

It will however be necessary to park in the public parking areas as the motoring demonstration paddock will be allocated solely to those cars running that day.

You have all the addresses of these disappointed people, so I suggest you send them the complementary tickets without any delay.
People have booked a place in this event since February and to be quite honest I cannot see them being at all happy with this offer.
I am certainly not.
As we all expected to be taking part in the demonstrations we did not even book a club space where we can gather. It simply is not the same being an individual in a crowd without having our own meeting place.
Perhaps you would like to arrange that for us?
We need space for the coupes and a 3m square event shelter.
I suspect that our members will be most reluctant to set aside space to participate next year unless you do something to rectify the appalling booking method where applicants are not informed unless they have been unsuccessful.
They have been under the impression that they would be putting on a show for the public for 6 months now and have made arrangements to do so, at the same time enjoying a day out.
It does not extend simply to Wings and Wheels.
Our members participate in all the AutoItalia events at Brooklands, I cannot see them being as keen to attend as in the past.
Ultimately this could reflect on your revenue. Even now I have an email waiting for me from Phil Ward asking me if we will be going to the Autumn Motorsport Festival.
I will make the contents of this email available to those who expressed an interest together with the attachment you sent.
In the meantime, perhaps you could consider the merits of arranging a Fiat Coupe Club pitch as some sort of recompense.

We now have a club stand on each day so please let us have a good turnout to demonstrate, as Thunderbox suggests, that we can organise a pissup in a brewery.
They have missed the post tonight so tickets and passes will be sent out 1st post tomorrow morning directly to participants.
We are getting 2 tickets per car, the wristbands will need to be saved for admission on Sunday if you are doing both days.
Unfortunately we will have a different pitch each day so can't leave stuff up overnight.
We need to be there before 9am latest both days as the public start coming in then. Gate staff will be on duty much earlier than that to let us in.
I still don't have an address for Sharman, so they are sending his tickets to me.

It seems a bit odd that they should send me a reminder to join in, in July if they were "over subscribed"  I feel partly responsible for not chasing this up earlier, so sorry for that  But as Pete and I have said the registration process is a joke! I doesn't take much for someone to send a simple email saying "Application received" & "Application accepted" now does it! I hope this doesn't put people off from coming in the future, it is a good day out if the weather is fine (let's hope). I will post all your tickets tomorrow. You each have a family ticket instead of 2 adults tickets, as we are running very low on adult tickets so we are giving family away instead for you. This permits 2 adults and 3 children between ages of 5-15. So if you did have any that would like to join you feel free to bring them along at your leisure.

it's actually both days Ross, have a read of the accompanying letter which tells us our pitches for each day. That is probably why Emily told us to retain any wristbands for Sunday if we are doing both days. It covers 2 adults and 3 children.

1 hour to get off the airfield, then a further hour to drive 18 miles home. Just a single lane of traffic out through the exit gate.
It took 30 minutes to get there this morning.

Hopefully I will get to see some of you and the cars during the day. The wife and children will be there so try not to ruin the 'they are so cheep to buy and run, practical, reliable' line I have been spinning.

Claire and I had a great day yesterday, weather was a little overcast but the rain held off. Seeing the two Lancasters and the Vulcan fly certainly made my day, we'd happily go again Shot of the club stand with a tiny Vulcan flying in the distance, for the older members yes you'll need your glasses to see it, I did  Further shots of the day here.

Great day, albeit the occasional chill. Got lots of photo's which I'll sort out soon enough. Getting out was just plain stupid. If I followed the correct way, we would have been queued far longer than doing a 180 turn and cutting across the grass cutting out a queue of 100+ cars.
As for the conspiracy theory about us, I've read on Pistonheads that a few people also had their applications 'lost' and speaking to someone I used to work with, they had cocked up on their applications as well.
