I have recently received an invitation for us to go to the Really Retro Show at Sleighford Airfield, Stafford on 22nd May.

A few of us went last year, It was small but there was some interesting stuff there and, as usual, it was good to meet with other enthusiasts.

If there is sufficient interest I will sort out a club stand there with the organisers, so please add your name to this thread.

Would love to attend but bizarrely It "is" my wedding anniversary and my cars birthday too! How she loves that lol (the wife being reminded it's my cars birthday!) that is

Sorry, not yet booked club space, been sidetracked with other things.

So it looks like 5 of us so far, will sort it out tomorrow.

I have just emailed the organisers,

I will need real names, model coupe and registration numbers please.

The entry cost will be £3.75 per car.

Yes please Neil, although the marquee may have to be erected at least partially on concrete: there is a lot of it about.

Just had an email from the organisers saying that it is easier for them if the five of us go in together.

I can be there nice and early; I'm stopping at little blister's place in Tamworth on the Saturday night.

Turns out it's the day *after* my wedding anniversary.

What time do we have to be there for?

They are asking us to arrive between 10:00 and 10:30 So I suggest we meet outside the gates for 10 o'clock.

I wonder how many other clubs will be meeting just outside the gates at ten o'clock?

If I remember correctly there is a fair bit of country road leading upto the entrance so shouldn't be a problem if we do wana meet near by.

Not according to the met office, sunny spells in the morning clouding over in the afternoon but no rain.......Hopefully Michael Fish has nothing to do with the forecast.

Saturdays not looking good though, how will I wax my car if it's raining?

That's the only one I took I'm afraid. Was a nice day, weather was fine till about 2pm then started raining

Everybody made it back in one piece?

Surprisingly good show and some interesting metal there (even though, like us, it did a vanishing act en mass when it started raining).

A surprising amount of interest in the coupes - by chance we had 16NA and VT, and 20NA and VT, so something for everyone - and one or two folk seriously interested in purchasing one.

Most obscure car there, after us of course, was a Gordon Keeble.

I had to feel a bit sorry for PeteP, though; the organisers put us next to the X1/9 owners' club, so he didn't know where to stand!

I enjoyed the day out great to see people again from both clubs. I used up over 10% of my annual miles in 1 day; a 350 mile round trip.

One of the folk seriously interested in buying a coupe was Mike, the former editor of the X1/9 clubs magazine.
He had a coupe years ago and reckons it was the best car he ever had, could be a 20V NA in his future.

The weather got as bit exciting on the M6 and M42 with some really heavy rain and standing water everywhere. I'm glad I put on new blades yesterday.

It was a touch wet on the way back. Though I think not as bad as on the way up on Saturday evening.

Sorry I missed this one guys..... Mrs Nello is just recovering from the big 'C' currently so I'm never sure how things are going to be from week to week..........
