Okay so I stole this from the SXOC forum.. but i'm wondering if there are enough of us that would be interested in going for a pint then a curry one night at a venue in the London Area. (Possibly brick lane as it's close to Liverpool St and the home of east london curries.)

So if you fancy a bit of balti magic, post below.

I'd be interested, living in the docklands and always down brick lane anyway!

Are some of you planning on driving there??

If that's the case i'll see if i can rethink a curry location (still in London) but a little more car friendly.

I'll be training it, no point in going for a curry if copious amounts of Cobra are not being downed as well (or is that just me )

alessandro - clapham is great for me but i fear it's not the easiest place for everyone to get to.

So I suggest that the venue should still brick lane, minutes from Liverpool street and i've just remembered a diamond place to park!

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=Calvert+Avenue,+Hackney,+Greater+London,+E2&ie=UTF8&z=15&ll=51.526234,-0.076261&spn=0.020132,0.058579&om=1

Calvert avenue is free to park on after 6:30pm IIRC.

When would be a good day/date for everyone? I'm pretty flexible on this.

Possible table for 12 here!

Is everyone okay with Wednesday the 8th? Or is a Friday/Weekend better for most?

Ladies allowed too..

I'll keep the 'date debate' open to see how many can/can't make the 8th then make a call.

At the top of brick lane there is a fantastic 24hr bagel shop which does the best salt beef and mustard bagels. A winner if you haven't had enough curry to soak up all the beer!

Suba will just have to go out on a school night and Rog is going to drive round London looking for an NCP.

I think we should keep it as the 8th for November.

Si - stop being a big girls blouse.

That said I can't be out too late that night either. Just pencilled myself in for a trip to Stealth Systems the following day so I've got to be in southampton for 9am.. and preferably not stinking of booze and womens perfume.

Looks like i'll be leaving the Tequila shots at the *ahem* gentlemans club for another day.

Hey Kenno,

Even though I'm mostly working in Farnborough now either I'll drive straight there, subject to M3 and London traffic, or I might be able to swing a London day so not to bad from Charing X to Brick Lane.

Count me in for sure please

Right - since i don't normally go drinking in the liverpool street area, i'll go and find a drinking establishment where we can meet. I might even try the beer there to make sure it's of a satisfactory standard.. sheesh the things i do for you guys.

there's (or at least used to be) a pitcher and piano very close to the tube station if you're into your big chain pubs, there's alot of good things to recommend about this place, although beer isn't necessarily one of them

Right - back for business trip now. Alcohol levels still quite high I reckon. Rog - are you driving there? You could always drive to mine, ditch the car + kip over + leave early on the thursday if you've got early jobs on.

If she's not good, you've definitley got to bring her next time Joe.

I know a couple of dolls who like to be bad, i'm sure they'll get on like a house on fire.

Sorry....have to bail like a cheap hooker too :O

Am in Farnborough today and have a 6pm meeting so making Brick Lane by any reasonable time is proving slightly difficult, even in a Coupe

Defo up for a raincheck though if this becomes a regular thing....that's London curry club as oppsoed to lots of people dropping out

Hope whoever turns up has a good time and don't get banned from any local pubs or good food places

Arghhhh.. what's that rattling?!? Oh.. it's my brain rattling like a pea in a can.

Apols to Squid and Alessandro, the curry night turned into a bit of a boozy one where I dragged Che to a Brazillian Bar in town. (Trish - no I'm kidding I didn't)

Good to meet you last night Che. Hope you can make the next one.

JimO - We didn't make the curry as i thought it was just going to be myself and Che. My housemate was telling me about some samba night at a brazillian place in town so we headed on there. A couple of caprihini's followed by lots of brahma and the night was a good un.

I'll try to organise another curry night... and actually go for a curry.

EDz - hey now.. your ace cafe has it's own thread. (I'll see you there tonight BTW)

With the festive season just around the corner, it's about right that we try and organise a few drinks together with a possible curry/thai meal thrown in for good measure.

I'm thinking central London, possibly soho unless anyone has any better ideas. Date will to be confirmed but since HRH won't be back from Rome for at least another week perhaps sometime early December would be good.

How are friday nights?

p.s. That's 3 pints now JimO.

Cheeky Sod

I can't make 4/5/6 of December, any other time I am free, unless of course I get a better offer or decide to come back to Rome for more pizza

Tell Kevin we're going karting or you've organised a group discount at a hair salon on a friday night - he'll be dead reliable then!

As Kenno owes me so many beers, the only way I can figure to get the cash out of his grubby little wallet, converting it to lager and drinking it is by organising a curry night.

So, reading through the thread it seems most people were up for Fridays. So as a start what about May 11th, this is the only date I can make otherwise its June for me.

Any interest?
