Karting? In the winter? You bet.
If you've tried Karting in the dry or indoors, you REALLY need to give it a go when it's cold or much preferably, when it's wet. They will keep you on slicks, oh yes.
Suddenly your 4-7Hp Go-Kart feels like a 600Bhp LM GT race car, I kid you not (well, I'm sure it would if I had ever driven one!). You will be amazed at the difference.
Keeping it on the track is a hoot and don't worry about hurting yourself. You're going much slower and spins don't often have you even leaving the track. Full on 180-degree powerslides are easily achievable and maintainable at will. A race is won not by the fastest person, but by the one who stays facing the correct way the longest.
Obviously getting it organised for the wet is going to be a real hit and miss affair, but Karting is Karting anyway.
I'm also thinking of Daytona again as I know from experience that even if it's hammering it down, they will still put you out on slicks.
So, come and av a go if ya think yer 'ard enuff!
