For a while I thought I was the only Coupe owner in Stoke-on-Trent, but there appears to be quite a few of us now, so I thought it would be good to have a bit of a get together. Of course this isn't just restricted to clayheads, all are welcome

I wasn't thinking of doing anything major, probably just do what us Stokies do best - drink, eat (pie and chips) and talk b******s

So.. would anybody be up for meeting somewhere in the potteries around mid-late January, maybe early Feb? I was going to suggest we meet up one Sunday late-morning, go for a bit of a drive, then head off to a pub somwhere for a meal and chew the fat. I have a couple of ideas for where we can go for a drive, and also know some good pubs, but we'll see who's interested (suggest dates please) in coming and put some ideas forward eh

Right okay then.. unfortunately it looks like I'm a bit busy most weekends up until the end of Feb, however March is looking good - any of those first three weekends. I'm thinking a Sunday might be a good day, so can I put forward three suggestions, and get a quick poll of interest:

Sunday 16th March

I would be available on any of those, so we'll base it on whichever date the largest number of people are available Idea for the day will be the usual affair - meet up somewhere convenient, go for a drive, and end up in a pub for a nice meal. I know plenty of good roads and a few decent pubs, but I guess it'll depend on how many people we get coming - some places are better suited to larger numbers of people, so we'll poll for interest first then I'll come up with some ideas of where we can go.

So I'll start the ball rolling with a list then, if anyone who's interested could re-post it and add their name, that would be brilliant

Just done my first meet over the weekend and really enjoyed it, Stokes not a million miles away so could come down for this meet, any one travelling down from the North we could meet up and go down together.

Is it really as common as it seems for a cambelt to snap on these??
My cambelt was changed last year along with auxillaries and im scared everytime i drive it now!!

I was a little unsure with mine so i rang the garage up and they confirmed it was changed.

Right folks I've been thinking about this now (about feckin time eh!! ) and I wanna suggest this for the day:

Meet at the Plough pub, Alsager, at 11am on the Sunday. It's got a reasonably decent car park and it's about 1 mile from M6 J16, I'll provide postcode and full directions so no one will have a problem finding it.

Then we have an hour or so cheeky one, before heading off at 12 for an hours drive (I've 90% planned the route, it's a good one which will avoid getting stuck in towns n stuff), then the route will end back at the Plough for a bite to eat at 1ish. Then people can either head off when they're ready or stay behind for another drink and talk b***ocks for a while

So does that sound agreeable to people? Can we have another list of names (for those who've lost count ), and I'll PM everyone on the list with the directions plus my mobile number in case anyone gets stuck:

Right the pub is called The Plough, and it's on Crewe Road, Alsager. Post code is ST7 2JN

Directions from the M6: Leave M6 at junction 16, and you want to take the turning for Alsager/Barthomley. It's the one AFTER A500 Crewe, and almost immediately after taking the turn you will pass a turning for a little Chef/petrol station on your left.. that's when you know you're on the right road So, having taken this turn, continue down this road til you get to some traffic lights, which are about 2 miles (guess) down the road. You can't go to far wrong, you don't take any turnings - just keep going til you get to the lights. When you do get to the lights, turn right, and the pub is about 200 yards on your right.

MattW - from Congleton, I'm guessing you'll be heading towards Red Bull lights? If so, head from Congleton to Red Bull lights (you'll pass the Bleeding Wolf pub, which will be on your right), and when you get to the lights take a right. This road will take you into Church Lawton, and you'll get to Lawton lights. Go straight through Lawton lights heading towards Alsager. When you get into Alsager, you'll get to the lights where you can see a Natwest bank and estate agents.. go straight through these lights and keep going for about a mile (ish). The pub will be on your left, you can't really miss it. If you get as far as the small set of lights for Barthomley then you've gone too far.

We're meeting at 11, then heading off for a drive at about 12ish, before arriving back at the same pub at 1 for a bite to eat. So any time between 11 and 12 would be great
