Sorry guys, I cn't make it. I was in Cardiff up until late last night (live there in the week) when a phone call came that meant I had to go back to Mid Wales and finances as they are I simply can't justify a trip back to Cardiff just for the day. Kudos to all who turned out today, even the Coupe's with the Polo & Excort style bodykits.

It was to meet up with some other Coop owners, for the first time for me!

That was a good blast up the A470 but I couldn't resist my favourite road!

That and the Hungarian GP at 1 pm.

Sorry, I've forgotten all your names, but hope to meet up again soon.

Well i turned up, Aah4fuxake,craig-swales and Boba in our coupes

and evans and champagnemorgan in there polo and escort

So basically out of a possible 11 coupes only 4 turned up

Bearing in mind i gave plenty of time in advance for everyone to suggest a suitable date so we can make it a good meet
The thing which annoys me the most is that when members on here say they are going to come along and come the morning
its just me, Matt, craig and so on

I know very well we cant match a turn out like the south east meet eg 12+ coupes , but we have plenty of members here in wales and i have'nt got a problem of travelling a little further for a good turn out

IMHO if this dont really improve i will start giving these wales meets a miss and start veturing to the south meets etc

Don't sweat it Benny! Those who were there knew it was worth the while & you can usually count me in on anything Coop related.

Maybe 'twas too informal & if we can arrange something like a meet at a car show or rally etc with a bit more of an agenda it might ensure more people are likely to commit. If you need any help organizing or drumming up numbers for the future, give me a shout.

Hey guys, just finished work, so here's my take.

The last 3 or 4 meets have basically the same. Meet at Cardiff Newport Road Castle Bingo, on a Sunday morning, go for a drive out, usually up the A470.

Fair enough to evans and champagnemorgan, they had valid excuses (evans was working, and the coop I sold champagnemorgan was misfiring and playing up ) But for all who put their names down, then don't turn up, this is amazingly frustrating to those who are waiting and hanging around in the vain hope that more people might show.

Don't get me wrong, I always enjoy these meets, even if it is just Craig and Benny there to enjoy a drive with me. I especially enjoyed testing Craig's tuned coop to the limit today, with my standard one gaining on him in 3rd and 4th and having to back off, whilst he was flooring it (LOLOLOLOL )

Anyway, before we get to the pics, here's an idea.

Maybe next meet, we meet somewhere different (say...Bridgend, to allow more westerners a crack), do a different route, and meet LATER. Heck, we could even do it on a Saturday. Hey, maybe if we have another before the end of the summer, we could arrange a barbecue, and bring wives and girlfriends <Bryn Cartwright> "Party at 'The Ponderosa'! Bring the Missus!!" </Bryn Cartwright>

We once had 11 coops on a S Wales meet last year. We WILL get that again.

Hi Guys,

I feel really bad. I'm never one to let people down, this time however it was unavoidable. I know I said I'd make it but I did post as early as I could this morning to say I couldn't make it, without a contact number it was the best i could do....maybe next time at least one member's number should be provided, i dunno, just a thought. I'm not one just to not turn up with explanation, its just my only and earliest means of informing you was to hope you would check the forum before the meet, sorry for this.

I made it to the last one and really wanted to make this one but the summer hols brings with it unexpected changes of plan, in my case a semi-emergency involving some relatives off school at the mo!

I am really up for the wales motorsport event in chepstow at the end of aug depending on whether i'm dragged to dorset staim fair or not! maybe this would be the event in the summer we could aim for.

I bought my coop with the idea of meets a definate persuading factor, its not something i'd want to miss again, its just things happen in life to make things difficult!

Anyway, i hope you had a good day despite, i hope to maybe see you at the above mentioned event.

Yeah Dave, there's no worries. There was no grumbling about turnout, no body was out of pocket, we had a bit of chat, pointed & laughed at each others bits etc

Low key, relaxed & friendly.

No doubt, it would have looked cooler having a flotilla of Coops snaking along the A470 at 100 mph instead of 4 but there were no hard feelings at all.

Well I'll make the next one, its just sod's law that now I live in Cardiff that I get dragged away from there the one time i really need to be there!
