I realise coupe prices have plummeted lately but wondered what mine might realistically be worth...Now don't shout at me, but I am simply not driving her enough to justify the cost of keeping her on the drive It was a complete heart over head purchase!

It's a 20v VIS non turbo X reg (2000)in yellow, with less than 55k miles on the clock, standard (apart from a Pioneer headunit with Ipod attachment)

Leather, climate with AC, full history (Rog fitted a new radiator and PAS belt last summer)

Cosmetically, it could do with some tarting up - the bumpers are rather faded, it has a little bit of corrosion on one of the rear lights and on the wheel arches (it lived in Hull before I got it and I think it may have been the victim of the salty air). the wheels could do with a refurb as well

It cost me just over £3k and I have spent £350 (plus 6 months tax at the start of the year)...

Sensible ideas on what I could expect to get back? And does anyone want to buy her? \:D

i agree mate, hole hardly.... but in the climet were your seeing +'s going for less than 2k and you can pick up a good 20vt for 1800

its going to be really difficult to stand out above them °\( and your right, its by far the best color!

Well mate I would say yellow ones seem to be in a high demand, for some weird reason and yours is a late one, with good mileage, etc. If you look at the one that Stan put up for the AutoItalia guy it was £2k but with double the mileage, so I would say yours should be £3k still, esp with the tax.

So thats what I would say mate ;\)

Cheers Jim...3k is ambitious I'd say, less than £2k would be an insult!!

Which Plus in good nick went for 2k unless it had been in a crash???

id say around £2500-£2700 in current climate ,allowing an the extra to make the car perfect.

Sound like it could be a minter with a little bit of work.£2.5k ounds rights, has it also got the late spoked wheels?

No, but I don't need two cars and I cannot have the coupe as an only vehicle \:\) Just seems daft having it rotting on the drive when someone else could enjoy it!

well on the other post people seem to think that a tidy Plus will get 4k...

I think 2.5k is top end...

Lovely little car BTW ;\)

in reality tho the NAs are just not reaching the correct values these days. . . . none of the coupe range are infact!
If the turbos were going for more than 2k which they should really then the NAs would be in the higher bracket.

i brough mine for 2k about a year ago

initial service and bits and bobs that were not right mechanically
£600
Leather Seats
£250
Head Unit
£150
Respray
£900
Wheels + Skirts/Lip
£450 ish
New air con condensor and various other bits and bobs inc temp sensor thermostat, ashtray about another
£300

Total Spend to date: (keeping in mind most of the work was done at next to nothing rate at my dads garage)

im not even going to total that up .... for that money i could probably have a mint plus.
Even for a mint NA you would be very lucky to get 2.5k

im now going to cry at how much i have spent.
\:z °\(

ps end of the day when you spend money on your car you are doing it for yourself. if you always think about the re-sale value you will always feel sick in the stomach as lets face it 9/10 you are never getting that back!

The usual Vicks winter selling the coupe post. 4 years running, and once you did actually sell one \:o \:D

Vicks, keep it. I doubt you would get more than £2k for it in the current market. Surely it only costs you £500 a year or so to keep it?

More, £300+ to insure, £200 to tax plus a few hundred minimum in maintenance. I do 10 miles a week if that! If I could get £2k, I'd probably take it as it would enable me to go back to one car. If I keep it, I'll end up spending £££s on the bodywork.

No and I seriously cannot envisage prices going up (much if at all) for a 10 year old Italian car, sorry

Hmmm, I now have the ST170, which is great, as quick as the coop (or quicker), comfortable, practical...ok not nearly as lush sounding or yellow as the coupe, but ...

Can't decide whether to seriously try to sell it...will take a biggish hit cash wise, but sooner or later the coupe will need a service, MOT, tax and insurance which is going to cost me £800+ for a car that I cannot see myself driving that much! I would rather someone else had it and enjoyed it, rather than rotting on my drive! So it's going to be costing me Lord knows how much a mile... with the punto, I could stomach it, but the ST is going to be twice as much to insure I fear

... advice? frown

Advertise it in Auto Italia the issue after this month's coupe story. Also advertise it in Practical Classics and Classic Car Weekly as a "modern classic" - it has been featured in both as such.

Well I just drove it to Tesco and having driven the Focus all day, I didn't get any buzz from the coupe, not like when getting in it after the Punto...eeeek, too similar as I feared! shocked Also, no quick clear screen, a less good ride, **** tuning circle and inefficient heating...crazy

Pitty I'm so far away, as you would have been more than welcome to store it under a car cover at mine until the weather picked up, I kept mine off the road for 11 months a while back with no ill effects and starting regularly and an oil/filter change.

I can't see prices picking up a great deal to be honest but shifting it in the summer would be a lot less hassle I think.

it does look a stunning car and I've been on here as a lurker regularly (not a prolific poster) and know how much you lavish your coupes.

You could try selling it to a dealer like Solo Italia, they'll probably only give you book but it might be worth seeing what they will offer.
