Right guys im thinking that maybe we should see what interest and numbers we could be looking at for a regular monthly meet!? the exact location and date times is yet to be sorted but i want to know if it will be of any interest to us lot down south east and who ever may want to join is welcome.

It will be in the most convenient place for the majority of course as it will be a regular thing, something a bit like the "Ace Cafe" meet which is a little to far for us to always be able to attend.

Its only an idea but if we get sufficent interest and depending on locations il come up with ideas of a few places and we can give it a go.

The south meets are tricky to organise as everyone is so busy, the only thing that evers seems to work is just state the place and the time of the meet and then people turn up or don't.

If you open it up to times and place queries, you get someone saying do it on saturday morning, someone saying do it on sunday, someone saying they can come after 2pm, someone saying they can do before 11am, someone saying they like cheese, someone saying Surrey is good, soeone saying Kent is better, someone saying I will try and make it, and somone saying wibble wobble wabble, etc, etc...

I have found, and I have done a few, its easier just to say July 17th, 11am onwards at such and such place - job done smile

And the reason why the northern meets are so successful is that they've only got to make a brief appearance on Jeremy Kyle then they're free for the rest of the day. tongue

I'd be up for a regular meet, might be able to make a few then. blush

well im thinking of maybe the third week every month or something on say for instance every wednesday evening at such & such around the 20th of the month.

Say we was to start this month it would be like wed 24th june (this month) wed 22nd july and so on.

im thinking of a wednesday night as its midweek. i personally dont do anything on a wednesday night normally (only when footy is on champions league etc) but it may not be ok for everyone or it might be one month not the next.

im putting the feelers out to get your feedback on if its of interest thats all.

Looking good tho.

There are qute a few general car and motorsport meets over the summer, including:
Ace
Silverstone Classic
Goodwood Breakfasts
Festival of Speed
etc.

Why not try to get a few coupes along to these?

Yeah I'd be up for an occasional meet. If its a decent sized meet, somewhere within 50 miles of Oxford.

You thinking of going for drives, or just sitting in pubs or something? Plenty of time for sitting in the pub when I get old!

I'm opposite site of M25 (SE London) to most of postcodes so weekday depends more on proximity than weekends.

how would bracknell/woodly/maidenhead areas sound? just out those 6 postcodes in and trying to pick central as possible place. works out bit further for kj & chris tho frown quite hard to find somewhere centrally for everyone obviously.

input and thoughts would be good. dont all bombard me with i think here etc etc etc smile

I might be up for it.

I ran some SE monthly meets for a bit a long time ago. Then we met somewhere and had a meal (or drove from one place to get a meal).

Do we have a venue or date yet guys?
PS: Anyone going to Gaydon supercar meet this sunday? Could meet on A40, Denham or Oxford if on your way. PM me if so. Cheers, Mark

JohnS arranged a few meets near Windsor, so that might work, could even try some weekday evening meets whilst it's still light, and then I don't have to worry about the kids or the missus coming along wink

Just go to a place that is a possible, hunt out a car park where we can meet and then somewhere we can eat (or can be the same place). For instance, when we met at Windsor we met in a harvestor car park, all had a [soft] drink and then drove into Windsor in a cruise style and went for a meal.

We did a similar thing when we met at Maranello Ferrari - I got their permission for us to meet outside their showroom, then we drove to a curry house in Virginia water

I live in Wycombe, but don't work there! There are lots of nice places round this area which should allow for a nice drive along the way.

Bagshot is easy for me to get to. Will chat to Becky as she know's the area reasonably well. Could always end up at the hungry horse pub or something

Bagshot is fine for me, all of 15 miles away!

How about the Cricketers right on the A30 so simple to find and with a reasonable size car park.
