All Ireland Coupe Meet - September 19th 2010

All Ireland Coupe Meet - September 19th 2010 - 04/09/2010 20:46

Calling all Irish coupe owners.Just setting up a new post to try and organise a gathering. Given that we have interest from North, South, East and West it makes sense to meet somewhere central.

We usually meet at the Hodson Bay Hotel in Athlone @ 1pmish on a Sunday so unless anyone suggests another location we will go with that.

It would be great to get as many coupe owners as possible so spread the word and we will update the below list as people come back.

Not all coupe owners are on the forum so if you pass one everyday, stick a note on their windshield or something!

ha ha, sorry mate , couldn't resist it wink pity you can't make it but congrats on the wedding!

I've no doubt our paths will cross again.

As for the rest of you, how about a comment or post. This meet won't happen if we can't even get a dialogue going here on the forum!!

Can we start a list of actual Irish (North & South)coupe owners on here and I will then PM everyone.

cheers

Ronan

Re: All Ireland Coupe Meet - September 19th 2010 - 11/09/2010 19:34

cheers Daithi,

I went through a load of old threads and made a list of 15 or so names north and south, edited my previous post, clicked submit but it appears my post wasn't updated. DOH! I have the lit in work and will update again on Monday.

It might be a case of pushing it back a couple of weeks if it means we will get a bigger turnout, but we'll see how it goes! I'm happy to still meet on the 19th even if its only a couple of us and maybe organise a bigger meet later on when we have more time to pull it together.

Well if it's being pushed back a couple of weeks, I'm back in the country from 4th October, so anytime after that!

Re: All Ireland Coupe Meet - September 19th 2010 - 14/09/2010 12:18

I'm afraid I'm one of the fallen, to a Range Rover! and a Lancia Evo.

if the right Coupe comes along I'll be back in one someday but I'll still be calling in here from time to time.

BTW there are 4 coupes in the club, Ians coupe has been off the road for a while now as he seems to have defected to Alfa at the moment.

Five cars, I guess that's not too bad given the weather.

One quick snap from the Blackberry - who had Proper Cameras?

Re: All Ireland Coupe Meet - September 19th 2010 - 22/09/2010 23:17

(not the right forum area, but perhaps more likely to reach the right people...)

Anyone have any ideas of who to go to in the south Dublin area to reset a tripped airbag light (the usual low battery problem) without charging multiple arms and legs?

Re: All Ireland Coupe Meet - September 19th 2010 - 23/09/2010 09:13

If any of you are interested my brother and I have booked Kirkistown racetrack for next Monday (27th Sept) for the afternoon for a bit of craic. Coupe 20Vt, Z3M, Audi TT so far.

Costs 100 pounds for about 4-5 hours. Although from past experience you and the car will be knackered after about 2.

Re: All Ireland Coupe Meet - September 19th 2010 - 27/09/2010 09:25

Well, the one suggestion I've had so far worked out €5 more than the nearest main dealer.

Maybe it's time to grab a VAG-COM interface and adapter from eBay and follow the instructions posted earlier in the year in another thread. Or... does anyone have that hardware to hand?

Re: All Ireland Coupe Meet - September 19th 2010 - 30/09/2010 13:35

sorry lads but a bit off topic. for anybody who is interested.

Re: All Ireland Coupe Meet - September 19th 2010 - 08/10/2010 16:18

I ordered a VAG-COM interface but it's not turned up yet (should have been here Wednesday) which is a pain as I need it done by this weekend (or breadboard the interface myself and connect it with paperclips and gaffer tape, which will be fun).

So, er, bump, anyone have one to hand?

(Once I have mine of course, I'll be happy to pay-forward the favour.)
