A very rare beast in white, I think it will fetch strong money.

I'm off to Halfrauds to buy a few tins of white paint

Good grief, 9 days to go and it's already jumped from £500 to £4500 in one day.

£4800.00 rising, and still needs fixing with 200k+ miles on the clock

I really fancied it, iv'e spoken to him & offered £4800 by bank transfer, no viewings no moaning i'd just pay and have it collected same day. I've seen the car a few years ago and I have a use for it so I can justify paying that for it but it is mad money agreed.


It isn't mine though, so clearly that's no enough. I'd say i'm against a fantasist at that who ain't going to pay up.

There's a much cheaper white 20v here (not really white though mr_tickle, you'll have to spray the dash strip and engine compartment too don't forget...)

is this an imported car then, with references to the certificate of conformity and the belief / truth that the Pearl White was never a UK market car. I wholly agree that this is an intriguing auction, as work required AND high mileage notwithstanding, "find another like it".

Yes slightly confused as to how it appears to be a genuine RHD factory car but in Pearl White and registered here? Mechanics aside it looks great. Always said they should definately have added Pearl White as a 6th LE colour.....

It will be interesting to see what happens with this one. Exciting now, rarer than any other colour and it's a Plus ... but at auction end reality hits for the winning bidder.

Paint will be needed, look at the front lips, indicative of the bumper and probably bonnet, who knows what else will be needed after all those miles. Engine rebuilt or replaced. Rust areas treated and looked into. Other parts worn out not yet replaced after 217,000 miles. Oil cooler condition? Bet the rear subframe aint too well. Pipework in engine bay? It all adds up pretty quickly...... Then reality kicks ..... How much did I pay for this? How much must I pay out? I mean, if it's one of a very few, you can't just skip over the issues or why buy it in the first place for such a high price? You'll be doing it right ..... Right??

I bet it will need a complete respray as matching that paint after all those years will be tough, especially being white based - An easy £3000.00 plus, you can't leave it as is! And this is the final part of making her good again......

You'll be spending a few hundred on transport costs seconds after buying unless you live next door....

As said, a lot of money for a high milage car! But it will be pretty unique in the UK and if someone wants a keeper, what is the reasoning behind a return on investment? I certainly wouldn't pay what it's up for because like Phil (Patch) I know how much work (money) goes into owning a top class Coupe. If your good with the spanners and have friends in the right places, you might break even, eventually

Nice to see a Coupe fetching strong money, even if it's influenced by the colour.

It actually looks pretty good in the photos but yes in the same vein as the Crono's its the rarity of colour thats making the value. If its what you really want then so be it.

I do not buy a car and think what financial return I will get, just the enjoyment and fun I will get out of owning it.

When the time comes and I decide to sell if I get my money back or even close I'll be happy but it's not high on my list of reasons for buying it in the first place.

Would love to have this car, if I didn't already have a plus and 20vt I would go for it. I have a figure in mind I would be willing to pay which is a few thousand more than current bidding price. Who knows I might treat myself and go for it.

John, that yellow of Plus of yours is never going to loose money!
Sell that, think of the profit and put that into the Pearly Plus instead

Ross, I've just spent the past 2 months (2 to go, I hope) taking the plus to pieces, cleaning, replacing and rust treating all the bits that need it. So after all that hard work the yellow plus must stay in the family for a while yet. But the white plus seems very tempting. Already got a nice spot in the garage just waiting to be filled!

I think someone is talking themselves into a purchase here..... hahaha

Wish I could talk the other half into it as easy.

I once parked behind that in my Broomy filling up at the Esso station in Faringdon, Lived there for 3 years and that was the only time I ever saw it.

I think Jimmy might struggle selling at that price with the quality of information and pictures supplied. Information is key when selling specialist vehicles at a premium. I always copy and paste all info and save adverts from vehicles I've bought so that I can refer to it later if required.
Personally, I don't buy back vehicles or repeat purchase vehicles I have already owned. I make the most of what I own and then move on. I had F14T LE for 10 years. So I had a fair go
