Hi,

Does anyone on here have access to the build details etc from Fiat?

Trying find out some details on mine, it was imported new, i think it started off in germany - then over to scotland - But its right hand drive? Just wondering out loud and trying work out a bit of its history.

Might do the "slightly" sad thing and try to contact the first owner!

Sounds similar to my Plus, manufactured 18 Apr 2000 according to ePer, first registered in Germany 23 May 2000 but RHD to full UK specification, imported into UK and registered with DVLA on 27 Nov 2000 (with 5 mistakes on the V5C rolleyes )

Just find a copy of ePer online and type ZFA175000000xxxxx into the box for chassis number/VIN and it should come back with the build date (replacing xxxxx with the 5 digits from your own Coupe whihc you can see on the chassis plate on the slam panel or on the o/s/f suspension turret near the oil filler cap (or even on the V5C, if it is correct!)

I'm sure Dave G you know allready but a lot of those German rhd were bought by uk armed forces personnel . Then imported in the uk

Recently here in France I transported an old rhd bmw car to get its certificate of inspection to be French registered.
The owner is ex RAF and was telling me that he and some pals bought a few fiat coupes and sold them on for profit into the uk.

Yes, a lot of imports in the late 90's via British Forces in Germany, one way to tell an import is the lack of etching on the glass (showing last 8 digits of chassis number and phone number of secrity/database company on all glass, full chassis number on windscreen).

My V5 is all wrong too! Well its just a "Fiat" - no model.... great fun getting insurance, car parts etc - can you get this corrected?

Yes, you can write to FCA's Homologation guy, it cost me £36 to get a letter out of them to send to the DVLA, I'll send you a PM, someone else on the forum is trying to get their V5 corrected too.

I'll send you a PM Lee
