Rear cups - opnions please..

Hi all , just being up to see joe at FCSS to drop some goodies of for my coop, which has being resprayed. We were talking about the rear cups which I have had sprayed black, he is not so struck on them especially witht alu ring, I kinda of like them but was wondering what you thought.. thanks.

p.s. I know there not in completly straight just a temp thing to get an idea of what they looked like.

I like the idea, but i don't think it looks right. Maybe a different colour might work but the black looks a little odd. Maybe strip and polish the hole cup? It will be tricky to get something that looks right against that paint colour.

Of course designs and colour choice are a personal preference over standard or what we like to see as standard, personally this isn't for me but maybe a rear lens without the alloy ring might work, we'll see, I'll get a couple of pictures tomorrow and update Genic's thread.

Not my cup of tea but I think it sets the car apart from others and puts your stamp on it. Be a dull world if we all liked the same thing.

Well they dont look quite as good as I thought they would, but not terrible either... will see what joe comes up with though.

Joe do you remove the whole cups when a full spray job is done?

Black with the red - yes. With the alloy rings aswell, no.

If you had black wheels too it could work!!

A gun metal grey may work !! I would not go for a polished finish though.. Being cast they may not polish up to well.. One of mine was very porous and it even gased a little when powder coated

Keep them body colured. Ive seen your coupe the past few times ive been to joes... its going to be a beaut!

how do u get the cups out

Take the lights out
Use a heat gun behind the cups... Not too long though just enough to soften the glue and then they will just pop out

TBH joe mentioned removing the rings also.

wheels are half black , maybe with black mirrors also ...

What about the LE , was it CB's idea to do the cups a grey ???
