Porto 20VT on Pistonheads

Porto 20VT on Pistonheads - 27/01/2016 19:48

Is anyone familiar with the Portofino 20VT currently advertised on Pistonheads classifieds (R104 JVW)?

Pistonheads ad

It looks and sounds nice, but being sold by a trader so probably priced a bit high.

Any thoughts?

On a side note, this trader's current stock is quite odd. This Coupe, a five grand Audi A4 and a quarter million pound McLaren!

If you can stretch the budget go for the 12C wink

I'd look at the MOT history online. There's a fail for corrosion, but a pass not long after. Be worth checking the quality of repair IMO.

Hadn't spotted that. Might be a perfectly good repair, but does put me off.

Give it a good inspection if you do view Peter as you've been here before.

I have Joe. You got it all nicely sorted for me, then I rather rashly sold it! I'd like to try to get one this time that has as little corrosion as possible.

I've noticed this particular coupe as it is a Porto like my own.
The pics certainly look good but of course we know they don't necessarily tell the full picture.
Joe - should I buy this one and save on the cost of a respray???? rolleyes

This was for sale several months ago then seemed to disappear. Surprised it hadn't sold.

Don't think it's too expensive, to be honest if it was up at £4K I wouldn't have an issue as long as it's as nice as it looks. I think good clean early cars deserve some recognition too and should be priced as such. I'm just not a big fan of Porto blue (sorry Porto owners).
