Ah! Sam, I'm gutted for you, but I do understand. Lovely, lovely car that, I am really tempted myself - reaches for piggy bank, and the daughters, and the wife's....

Sam,
does this mean that you won't now be going to Spa?

Re: P 20VT "bumble bee" Discussion thread - 08/03/2010 19:34
Hi Bob,
The spa is a done and dusted affair, hotels are booked as is the ferry so I will be going, it will just be in the 500. Its unlikely if the coupe sells however ill be attending any more meets other than that.
The temptation to have another will be to high

Yeah but how long before we see Sam reveal his new LE or Plus

Re: P 20VT "bumble bee" Discussion thread - 08/03/2010 20:14
Whatever Sam decides to do, I wish him luck. Having met Sam on a number of occasions I can see he has a great knowledge of the coop and it's quirks and is a kind hearted fellow.
If you do go to the dark side mate, I will miss you around the coop scene, that's for sure

Re: P 20VT "bumble bee" Discussion thread - 08/03/2010 20:54
it's a shame in one way but if it suits the lifestyle then it has to go. hopefully the new owner will treat it well too after all joe's hard work resurrecting the car, and sams expense recently too.
i know sam's been fighting his coop demons for a couple of years at least but, at the end of the day, if they are impractical for purpose it's pointless having one unless you're loaded - and i doubt sam is...

Re: P 20VT "bumble bee" Discussion thread - 08/03/2010 21:00
Lol, your suspicions are correct. I'm by far no means *poor* but in the same breath i'm not loaded. Comfortable would be the word?
I can see me going the mr2 mk3 or mx5 route, non turbo, small engien, cheep to fix with good access. More importantly something emma can drive

Re: P 20VT "bumble bee" Discussion thread - 08/03/2010 21:42
When I first joined this forum I remember Sam was looking for a yellow coupe at the time.
He got the inky, sold it and then got the bumble bee.
I really thought this one was forever Sam!

Re: P 20VT "bumble bee" Discussion thread - 08/03/2010 21:49
Sam, if you'd decided to get rid a month back I'd have taken her off your hands quick as a shot!
Very admirable car indeed!
Don't sell it to any old anybody Sam - she must go to a good home!
And I doubt very much that Joe will allow the Bee to be broken! He'd buy her back if things got that desperate!
Good luck with the sale

Re: P 20VT "bumble bee" Discussion thread - 08/03/2010 21:50
After all that work! really tough decision to get rid Sam. It should sell no worries for what your asking, good to hear Spa's still on though.

Re: P 20VT "bumble bee" Discussion thread - 08/03/2010 22:37
Its a shame Sam, I can't believe you're selling it after everything you went through to get it. I can't say much though, I always said I'd keep my coop but just took a deposit on it today, will be gone by Friday all being well.
I've already called William Hill and got good odds on you buying another in the next 6 months

Funnily enough Sam, I'm thinking 955 speed triple or mx5. If I were a two income household the running costs and cost of sorting the coops bodywork wouldn't be as much of an issue. My daughter wont be happy (she absolutely loves the coop, scars and all) but she'll be even less happy if she gets no xmas presents this year!!

What has Joe said, as I know he's always said he'll buy the car back off you?

this car should never be broken, id rather put it in storage rather than see it stripped.
i hope a buyer comes along fast and grabs a very rare coupe.

Shame mate - looks a cracker - I know what you mean though. I sold an X1/9 I got concours once just because it got sooo mint I would not use it for fear of it being marked - mind you I have recently bought it back! Be warned!! All the best.

thats the one to go for mate! what a nice car! and you will have a one off!...
what a shame though you are selling ..your enthusiasm for the bumble bee when i first started using the forum was infectious and probably one of the many reasons i became silly over these cars...i hope you can live with yourself when its gone

Lovely car sam, and the price is significantly less than Joe quoted me for bumblebee before all the work you've had done to it. It's a baragain, and I wonder how much I could get for my kidney?
PM me if you want to swap for my kidney.

If only you had decided to sell this is 6 months time, I would of been in a decent position. On the bright side, there does seem to be a steady flow of nice coops coming on the market of late.
Best of luck with the sale and don't let it go to any old person.

I wish someone would hurry up and buy this! I really can't afford it at the moment, but want it badly!!
Fancy swapping it for a 20v with a dents already installed on the bonnet and boot? At least you don't have to worry about adding them yourself - that's the only reason you're selling up according to your advert!!
