German beer

German beer - 24/06/2023 16:18

Far be it from me to suggest that the Germans take their beer too seriously, but after finding the website of the brewery whose product I enjoyed earlier today, I note that while they offer only thirteen different beers, they also offer fifteen types of glass to drink it from laugh (and twenty-eight clothing products to wear while doing so).

Neil (why yes, it is warm outside today, in spite of five inches (they called it thirteen centimeters) of rain in the last 36 hours)

p.s. read the beer prices and weep! And it's cheaper if you get a crate.

Slurp. What a lovely post - beer being close to my guts.
How come the price is so cheap compared to the UK?
Lack of tax, or subsidised by the state?
Either way, which is your favourite?
€13.50 for 18 x 500ml. Great.

My doctor complains if I drink anything alcoholic regularly, so I only drink beer once a fortnight, if that... but I favour Grevensteiner: https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/172/115552/

I think the price is simply lack of tax. As always, it's a little cheaper in the supermarkets and more expensive in the pubs and bars.

The oldest brewery in Germany dates back to 1040 - Weihenstephan. https://www.holidaycityeurope.com/10-oldest-breweries-in-germany.html Grevensteiner is brewed by Veltin's, only a couple of hundred years old.
