Oulton Park track day, Weds 25 July

Given that the weather looks like its about to turn for the better (fingers crossed!), I've just booked a last-minute track day at Oulton Park next Wednesday

Any one who fancies a ride or two is more them welcome

We had a great day, thanks, Marco Overcast, but warm, in the morning and bright sunshine in the afternoon meant that I didn't have to face my rain demons!

Easytrack always seem to run a brilliant day, with sensible numbers of cars meaning that we could pretty much go straight out on track when we wanted. And, once out there, the track wasn't too busy and stopping us having fun. I can't recommend them enough

We managed to get out probably 10+ times in total. I was knackered by the end of the day from the sheer amount of driving/ concentration.

And I'm getting more used to my car with each track day. The move from FWD to RWD has been a big thing for me on track and later in the day I was having the confidence to go into some of the more quicker corners closer to the 'edge' ... and enjoying the feeling of the car sliding around a little, and me controlling it

After not having done a track day for several months, I've got the bug again

Unfortunately, though, my video camera was playing up and was only recording for the first few minutes after being set up. So I've not got any decent video of 'hot' laps (with plenty of sliding and steering wheel input ). However I did get a lap of my mate, Rich, driving ... and spinning nicely at the end (on an out-lap as well!) ... Rich's one-lap guide to Oulton ... with extra spin!

But I had a lunatic in a Subaru to blame (he was just ahead of me, going far too quickly into the corner, sliding all over the place, before taking a trip across the gravel)!
