Knockhill 6th July

Knockhill 6th July - 07/02/2013 23:55
Now that Spa has fallen through I'm testing the water for a Scottish meet up here at
Knockhill in Fife
A half-day Saturday 6th July is quoted at £5k all in so if we get 50 cars - they don't all have to be coupes - it's £100 each. 35 cars, c.£160 e.
Great chance for you southern bros to git into our fantastic long Scottish summer days!
Got some interest already, anyone else?

Great Idea Simon.
I would definitely be up for this and happy to organise other events/activities/road trip and accommodation if people wanted to make a weekend of it.
35 cars would only cost £143 so very reasonable for 4 Hours exclusive use of track. The more the merrier beer tokens left over.
We have now invited Scottish Alfa Owners as well.
Knockhill is a great little track and easy to learn if you haven't been on a track before.
It is also the Home track to the current BTCC Champion - Gordon Shedden.
Add Name Please if definitely Interested.

Teamwork!
Fife, or the Kingdom as it's known is up there as the most attractive east coast region with quaint villages and red-tiled cottages, picturesque sea-side small towns such as Elie, Pittenweem and Crail, and legendary friendliness.
Downside, if you can't work out what Baz76 is saying you might struggle with the Fifers' speak (sorry Baz, I've no difficulty understanding!)
Summer evenings are endless up there, it doesn't get dark till around 11p.m.
We'd like to make this as inclusive as possible so that first-time track drivers can get a session on their own for a bit without being rag-4rsed by the likes of fire-eaters jbt, Pp et al

Re: Knockhill 6th July - 09/02/2013 17:54
Be rude not to. Assuming a half day = 4hr session then with only 50 cars it'll be quiet enough that you'll find some empty track.

Re: Knockhill 6th July - 10/02/2013 10:11
Ok, if someone brings 2 cars they have to pay for 2 cars to go on track, £60 for 2nd driver. Non driving passengers £10.
Knockhill is getting back with a deadline date so if there's enough interest it'll be a go-er

Re: Knockhill 6th July - 13/02/2013 23:38
We need a lot more names guys. Where are all the Scottish members?
For those apprehensive about driving on a track
If you haven't been on a track before-the most hazardous part of the day will be driving to and from the track or any journey in rush hour traffic is far more dangerous, difficult and stressful.
Driving on the track is far safer, infinitely more enjoyable and definitely exhilarating.
There are no cars coming from the opposite direction, there are no parked cars, pedestrians, lamp posts, deer, buildings or brick-walls to hit. The other drivers on track are far more courteous than you'll find on public roads and nobody will cut you up or drive right up your arse(as they say).
And there are Marshalls with big flags to warn you of any danger ahead!
A track-day is not a race. It's about having fun with your car in a safe environment. You just have to drive slowly the first few laps until you get the feel for the track and car. You wont embarrass yourself(nobody is really watching) and you'll regularly pass slower cars that are on cool down laps. You'll also get lots of advice and encouragement from fellow club members and drivers.
So get your name down you will love it.

It needed confirming on Monday.
