RR Hopefully back to Extreme on the Sun 30th - 08/09/2011 16:05

Ok folks here we go again ......

Off the back of the planned mapping session ( http://www.fiatcoupeclub.org/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1258198#Post1258198 ) with us on the right side of the wall it would prob be pragmatic (bragging rights) to have a printout of the new power of the coupes post mapping.

However I was thinking lets open it up to all who may just be interested on getting a dyno run for their car as it stands no need to have just had it done or even just an excuse to all meet up laugh

The more heads the cheaper it is, basic enquireies show for low numbers it's £45 a head and for groups of 12+ it would be £35. With that said that's without letting Ross grind them down over a 2hr phone call however I think gauge it on the top end price and anything else is a bonus.

Date wise looking early to mid October, so with that said would there be much interest in this?

Mind to allow time for all the peeps to get their cars ready for the map wink

Re: Dyno Day at Etreme in Whitburn? ( Scotland) - 09/09/2011 22:43

Well I was thinking of trying to make it after the 1st week in October for Flea to come up and this would hopefully be arranged specifically around Flea coming up.

Job done!

Re: Dyno Day at Etreme in Whitburn? ( Scotland) - 16/09/2011 17:41

I should be able to get some more non-coupes for this if we're looking for a min of 10 cars?
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Dyno Day at Etreme in Whitburn? ( Scotland) - 16/09/2011 22:52

12+ would be our magic number, non coupes might be the way to go. Worth putting it out to gauge interest.

Kenny have you got a definite date for this ? I was asking Simon and Rab about it at the exhaust place in Ek and they reckon they could get another 2 plus them, but they would need a date to try and work round it.

Guys if need be can we change to the 22nd which is the Saturday, problem being the cars getting mapped would need done by about 1ish although Extreme did say those getting mapped would get the group price matched at a date that they could re-attend.

Or I can check other placed for the 23rd. Majority rules on this.

Re: Dyno Day at Etreme in Whitburn? ( Scotland) - 04/10/2011 13:07

Right brace yourself folks:

23rd - Tick
£35 - Untick
Whitburn - Untick

There are nice new shiny (4yrs old) Dastek rollers in Hillington however the cheapest they can do us per person is ....... £50. Now personally I'd be an easy £10 in fuel to Whitburn in back so it's not a big dent but how does that sit with you guys?

Re: Dyno Day at Etreme in Whitburn? ( Scotland) - 04/10/2011 14:34

Simon, extreme were offering the same, but you would have paid more for fuel.

Only place you could use would be falkland performance, where I set my engine bay on fire.

For any cars that have been (will be) mapped by me you won't need your fueling checked, but anyone else I don't mind checking fueling for a small fee!
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Dyno Day at Etreme in Whitburn? ( Scotland) - 04/10/2011 15:25

Sparkyman told me it'd be the perfect time to get some mods bolted on and fuelling checked. rolleyes smile Will let him off though since he kindly lent me an intercooler for a while. Nothing like setting a challenge. What sort of fee are we looking at Flea? Unfortunately I just don't have the money for a remap just now. Hadn't even planned on modifying it yet.

Re: Dyno Day at Etreme in Whitburn? ( Scotland) - 04/10/2011 17:44

Lads at first i was a bit taken aback by the price hike but once I thought about it the price change really is offset by the reduction in travel and the best bit - it's right beside a Burger King!

Re: Dyno Day at Etreme in Whitburn? ( Scotland) - 04/10/2011 19:02

Pretty gutted we aint goes to extreme was there last year and they were fantastic... 2 good power runs and a good talk with you after looking at the graph showing boost, torque, fueling etc. Wasnt just a RR, it was an actual dyno cell.

I suppose hillington should be roughly the same...? not dashfixer though is it?? Heard some stories they are basically.. get the cars through as fast as possible.

Either way i'm still up for this laugh

Simon, I can only apoligise, I thought this would be done.

When I went to Wallace Performance three time plus a trip too Ava,they all checked the fueling on my car, I thought thats how it works frown

Re: Dyno Day at Etreme in Whitburn? ( Scotland) - 04/10/2011 20:12

Well since Simon and Rab have bought in another 4 cars,so in total 6, which was good of them, think it would be only fair that's it's on a Sunday.

£50 is dear for that number of peeps, but on the other hand you will save that on fuel, plus when someone breaks down it's not that far away wink

It's a pitty Wallace are so far away as Matty up there is really good with advice, he uesd to be on here and had a 400bhp coupe before he moved to the evo taxi tongue

Kenny thanks for trying to pull this all together, you're a star, be it a very dull small star, still a star wink

So if we went to Extreme it would just be the week after the mapping ? which is'nt a biggy.

Re: Dyno Day at Etreme in Whitburn? ( Scotland) - 05/10/2011 10:48

If I may interrupt...

I think leaving it 23rd Oct is the best idea. Flea will still be there, to advise with regards to people's maps.

Dashfixer is local, although more expensive for the run, no-one will be anymore out of pocket for the actual day itself.

I've personally used dashfixer before. The facilities were good, its a Dastek £100k set of rollers and its in an industrial estate, so no hassle. Extreme weren't checking the fuelling for the price they offered, so no difference there.

I've been watching this, but I'm happy to get my car run this day at Dashfixer. Can everyone else confirm if they are able to make it? We only need 10 for this day also.

Dashfixer - 23rd Oct - £50

Just to add, I will be flying back at 4pm, so will have up to around 1.30-2pm on the Sunday before I need to leave for the airport. I'm happy to check the non-mapped cars i.e. AFRs, ECU diagnostics, for a one-off special price of £15! This doesn't have to be on the dyno, I can do this on the road if required.

It would be good to be there when the cars are on the dyno, I know there will be many questions to answer which saves on the emails after!

I appreciate that £50 seems alot more however we'd all be a fair few quid in fuel doing the 60+ round trip. So it real terms it's prob only £5 more and by by accounts it is a better facility.

Plus did I mention it's near Burger King?

lol yip I'm good with that, I think we'll need to firm this up by Friday as they said they would need confirmation/deposit by end of the week as in booking terms it's short notice apparently.

Looks like I'll have the only non mapped coupe! cry

Already spending money I shouldn't just getting the thing to the rolling road. Are the prices for mapping the same as on the website? (just out of curiosity)

Yes the prices are the same Simon, we have one place left to fill so it would be great if you came on board. If you have any questions then please fire away.

This is the exact same reason I've went for it.

Seems a waste Leighton coming up and not taking advantage of it.

C'mon Simon, buckle to peer pressure!

Re: Dyno Day at Dashfixer - Hillington ( Scotland) - 07/10/2011 09:15

Peer pressure makes no difference to the wallet. New house pressure leaves the "playing with cars fund" pretty empty.

Would be better waiting till all modifications are done before getting it mapped, hopefully next summer.

Folks thanks for coming today and a shame the Dyno was gubbed however it hopefully means we can secure our original venue which many would rather go to which is Extreme in Whitburn. I will give them a call again tomorrow and see if I can make this happen.

I will update tomorrow and if this generates any fresh interest then please drop me a pm.

Good catch up with the RM Motorsport regulars as well hehe

Extreme motorsport really is crackin!
Dyno cell too, if they can then someone will need to ask about running the dyno on the same setting as Leighton uses, for better comparison too he said.

Kenny i'll let you know if David Irvine - Type R can make it too.

Re: Dyno Day at Etreme in Whitburn? ( Scotland) - 24/10/2011 10:00

Just off the phone to John@Extreme and given our numbers have dropped to belpow 10 at present he is going to work out if he can afford to run the day as he couldn't justify bringing in other staff.

Also as we are below 10 heads we creep towrads £40 if he can make it happen. I'm waiting a call back just now.

In the mean time can we see if we can drive the head count up?

Cheers

Re: Dyno Day at Etreme in Whitburn? ( Scotland) - 24/10/2011 20:33

On the side of caution that could end up costing us £70 a head if only 7/8 actually turn up ?

Re: Dyno Day at Etreme in Whitburn? ( Scotland) - 24/10/2011 20:54

Right I'm going sort this for a tenner ahead

1) Roger 485bhp
2) Kenny 390bhp
3) Simon 300bhp
4) Ross 300bhp
5 )Ronnie 486bhp
6) Rab 270bhp ( astra )

All your curves are brilliant, all have great power and delivery. Checked your fueling, that's fine too.

Done and dusted. Please come again.

WTF?? How bad is your maths?

7 x £70 = £490

15 x £35 = £525

Even so how much you thinking of taking as deposit? £32.67 each?

FFS Kenny - £5 a head deposit paid to Extreme = £30 each on the day if all turn up. If not £35 each on the day to cover the deposits of those who aint turned up.

Ross

Seriously? You think they'd just say, "nae bother we'll let you off with difference for those who never turned up, infact form a que and I'll get wife in while your waiting!"

I'd imagine he'd say bolt or split the difference between you.

Re: Dyno Day at Etreme in Whitburn? ( Scotland) - 24/10/2011 22:04

15x35= 525
7x35= 245

525-245 = 280

280/7= 40

35 pp + 40 for the no shows = £75 (minus off what deposit is paid).

There's yer dinner Ross, chow down laugh

Re: Dyno Day at Etreme in Whitburn? ( Scotland) - 27/10/2011 23:22

guys, i don't want to be butting in here as i wasn't there for the flea mapping so if more want to go earlier then please arrange it for an earlier date

i just thought as i was in glasgow that weekend would have been a good chance to get the car rolling roaded and meet up with a few coupe owners but i'm really not fussed as I haven't made any changes to the car unlike you guys who have all head your cars mapped

I took my name off as I hadn't said I was going on that date and didn't want anyone thinking I had agreed to go on that date, when I hadn't.

Re: Dyno Day at Etreme in Whitburn? ( Scotland) - 01/11/2011 11:07

should we maybe change the title of this to reflect a new date to see if we can get the numbers up a bit, i would be keen to see this go ahead as otherwise i will be getting dragged around the shops all day by the wife, something i am keen to avoid lol

Re: Dyno Day at Etreme in Whitburn? ( Scotland) - 08/11/2011 09:58

Is the consensus to go for this date as I'm not wanting to mess the guy about plus think it's leaving Rab & Simon out in the cold. That said only place that was willing to do a Sunday effort was dash fixer.

Let me know folks.

Think Rab might be ok for 19th. I'm not fussed either way so just go with the majority.

Re: Dyno Day at Etreme in Whitburn? ( Scotland) - 17/11/2011 18:40

Well - I doubt its on this weekend tbh doug.

Couple of guys have shown interest in going at some point, but nothing arranged.

Anyone interested in getting car rolling roaded on a sunday?

If we get 10 peeps, I'm sure we could secure a venue!!

no worries, i really need to get a front wheel bearing sorted so will put the money towards that and give the other car a run as it never goes anywhere
