RR day, Aberdeen 9th Sep - 11/09/2007 01:12
Yesterday Fran, Matty and myself attended a RR day here in Aberdeen which we had been kindly invited to by the SXOC.
It was a pretty good day out with some healthy banter going on
and everybody managed to drive home at the end which is always good.
Anyways, I'm pretty happy with my results which were more or less what I expected and also happy that it seems I managed to time my cams up properly when I fitted new belts a month or so ago.
I've uploaded my graphs, seen
here and here I shall leave Fran and Matty to tell you how they got on, should they feel they want to.

Very nice B.
I'd just like to thank the SX boys for sorting this out and letting us come along, nice to see all you guys.
I've only got three pics from the day I'm afraid, I'll post them up shortly. I think it was around 13 200's, 1 300zx n/a, 1 Escort Cosworth and Two Evo's in total - plus us three of course.
Oh and of course the surprise Escort Turbo.

Just had a chance to look at the graphs....
Bit worrying about the afr until 4000rpm matt. That a gtech 1 or 2?
Good progressive bhp and nice torque.

You see the thing is Ross, I worry a lot less than you.
It's a GtechI. I suppose I could switch to a gtech2 before the next RR we're having but it aint blown up thus far......
Cheers Barbz.

Gtech 2 would be better. Definately runs richer at that point and more ignition advance low down would be better off boost.

have you got cams?

Re: RR day, Aberdeen 9th Sep - 13/09/2007 03:18
I do indeedy. I must be honest I didn't think there was much of a power gain from them, perhaps there is, but the noise they make at full chat is lovely.

I didnt know u had cams. They give 10lb/ft extra on average. So that would explain the torque without headwork.

Unfortunately my car thought it would be fun to run in limp home mode so was only boosting at around 0.5Bar.
I haven't managed to get my graphs up yet, but only got 184BHp and 200lb/ft of torque
Trying to get ahold of a widget or code reader so that I can find out what needs to be fixed in order to get her running better.

Oooh, ooooh, I have a question:
Seeing as I have a race cat (which I assume works since it usually passes MOT’s without too much grief) I would guess that effectively my AFR numbers will make about as much sense as h2ypr usually does?
I would assume the actual AFR would be lower than that seen by the probe up the tailpipe as the cat will have done it’s thing and cleaned up the exhaust gases a bit?

So what your saying is that your running richer? So your car is mega in-efficient...

I'd stick with that, it's done me well.

I have a race-cat and a wideband lambda in the downpipe. My AFR figures (from the sensor in the DP) pretty matched up with the figures from a RR who used a sensor in the tailpipe (after the race-cat), so from my experience, it doesn't make too much difference.

Anyone know how to work out wheel torque to flywheel torque?
