My rolling road results - 31/03/2009 15:44
Just spoken with Phill Lanes and he's given me my rolling road results, needless to say, i'm seriously impressed, and i wasn't expecting that much from the engine!
I just hope my driveshafts will take the power for a while! I'm like a pig in s
t at the moment!
Due to Phill not having a scanner at work, he is going to scan the graph for me this evening and email it over, but i'll leave you guys guessing what the output was

Re: My rolling road results - 31/03/2009 15:53
You were aiming for 400... You must certainly have reached it + you're massively impressed by the sound.
I still remember the way we laughed with your results (well... 'symptoms') on the first rolling we ever did, with the Brick. I kind of get the feeling we're no longer going to laugh anymore now.

Re: My rolling road results - 31/03/2009 23:01
Okay here's my guess... Begbie showed up with the brick on that rolling road thingy and got 175 bhp or something out of his 16vt engine. Those 20 horses that had run away will surely have returned to the pack by now, getting older and missing their family - together with their offspring. I don't think those horses were very trustworthy so I wouldn't be surprised if each one of them got into quite a few relationships - being Italian an all that. I bet on average they stuck just half a year with those ladies! And that was back in 2001 somewhere. So every year, those horses each gave birth to 2 colts. That's 40 brand spanking new horses every year. 8 years on, that gives an amazing number of 320 horses. Plus those (now old ones) that ran away gives 340 horses. 340 horses + the 175 horses that were still there...
515 horses
Or wait... Didn't Begbie get a NEW engine? And didn't it get an overhaul by Guy Croft who surely added some of his own to the pack? So I looked it up "guy croft horses" on Google. First result:
Workflow Charts Finally Put to Good Use Show Fundamental Men vs ...
I live on a horse farm. I have horses. The Ex rode said horses. .... Guy Croft. Posted 3:19 AM 17/1/09. Wait... is that third one saying that men drink beer ...
Says Guy Croft first posted 3 and then 19 horses! That's 22...
I take it Begbie's now got...
537 bhp
There.
And yes I'm tired and should go to bed.

Wow, I mean really wow... that is dedication to the task working on a Sunday
Fantastic results though especially given you haven't even fitted your external wastegate yet, tbh I wouldn't even bother!

Re: My rolling road results - 01/04/2009 08:36
Then heres a question. If you were basing all your modifications around a 400bhp target. What does this mean for the likes of your injectors, fuel pump, and what not? Are they upto the task in the long term?
Also you spent alot of time choosing the right turbo, now with over 100bhp more than expected, shouldnt you be looking at a larger one?

Re: My rolling road results - 01/04/2009 08:51
See - my calculations were correct!

Re: My rolling road results - 01/04/2009 08:55
Crazy just crazy man. So much torque from that little engine. Can't believe it

Re: My rolling road results - 01/04/2009 08:59
Nice one Alexis - so when do you get to road test?
From the graph it builds torque very well indeed on the GT30.

I've over spec'd everything. Injectors are 750cc in size, i run a in tank pump and an external bosch 044 motorsport fuel pump to make sure i have the fuel, and the turbo, well, it has scope for flowing more than 400bhp

1.6bar

Re: My rolling road results - 01/04/2009 10:37
I don't think is a fool’s joke as it seems to be too real.
Very impressive results. Your GT3076R is designed to run 525BHP so to get an extra 25BHP just shows how efficient your engine must be. The torque as well is an amazing figure. These results now make you a 16VT legend
. I'll be waiting to see this at TOTB? Well done

This time last year Begbie was selling the thing!

Re: My rolling road results - 01/04/2009 10:55
I know but I read the story in the project folder and it seems to add up time scale wise plus Phill owns a Dastek Dyno. If it is a joke then he’s got us all really well but it’s just too real to be false.

Re: My rolling road results - 01/04/2009 11:02
I think people should know me better by know, i've done loads of April fool's jokes on here over the 8 - 9 years i've been on the forum. The RR graph was nicked from Google images, a bit of tweaking in PhotoFiltre allowed me to edit out various bits and pieces and put in my details. The real graph is below

Hi Si,... yes I am afraid so!
Every time I think of something else to buy, some other bill crops up to steal my money away!,.. plus I was ill for a good 5/12 from last year, so that meant no money either.
Secretly I would like Eldinho to sell my old coupe back, but I doubt he will
Miss the fun of the Coupe ownership a LOT of fun for the little outlay really,..the Alfa runs fine, is comfortable etc,..but sod that,..I miss the excitment!!
Hows things yourself?
