Brooklands Hill Climb and Track - 14/04/2011 13:49
I know some of you attending Brooklands have expressed an interest in doing the hill climb.
There is only one hill climb this year, which is in the afternoon and there is a track session in the morning instead (read below first, it's not flat out track action!)
From the attendance list, I see the following people are interested:
Hovedan
Nismo
Marco20valveT + passenger.
Now, the above will get preference, as their interest was stated first.
Otherwise, can people let me know who's interested in doing the track or the hill climb?
Need three Coupes for the hillclimb (which I currently have if they are sticking with the hill climb) and need three Coupes for the track.
When I have three for each, I will need names, Coupe model and registration numbers please.
Below is a message from the organiser, with details of the events and times, etc:
This is the info I am sending out to drivers. I need three cars for the track and three for the hill.
Schedule
08.30 Gates open
11.00 Drivers' briefing track
12.00 Track demo start
13.00 Track demo end
13.00 Lunch break
14.00 Drivers' briefing test hill
14.45 Test hill start
15.30 Test hill end
17.00 Event closed
The activity on the Mercedes Benz World test track will take place from 12.00 to 13.00. Drivers' briefing is at 11.00 sharp in the Education Centre (by the Shell Pagoda). All cars must be assembled by the river bridge next to the aircraft park by 11.30 sharp. It might take you some time to extricate your car from the display areas so make an allowance for this.
The cars will run behind a Lamborghini pace car driven by an MBW instructor. Overtaking is not possible due to the narrow track. It is hoped to run 6 groups of 10 cars for four laps. Where possible marques will be grouped together but consideration will be given to running slower cars from varied marques together, in any event slower cars will be to the rear of the group. Supercars and special cars will be run in the last group to complete the time available in the session. This will be at least four laps but likely to be more.
Drivers must attend a briefing for Test Hill in the Education Centre at 14.00.
Passengers for the track demos are permitted if 16 years of age or over.
Children passengers for test hill must be properly seated and supervised.
Crash helmets are not required
