Practical Classics at the NEC - 23rd-25th March - 21/03/2018 18:16

Yes, this weekend...

Just so you know - the FCCUK not only have four coupes in hall 5-562 but also mine is appearing in the high mile single owner section in hall 4-212 - half of the high mile display!

We'll be doing some basic maintenance on one of the cars on the FCCUK stand across the weekend, and you'll recognise us by our stylish and practical FCCUK shirts and overalls. If you come bearing food, you're especially welcome laugh

Please come and say hello!

Last year it was rammed over the weekend and virtually no works was done on the resto Coupe as the members were chatting to the public!

This year we still had all the attention, but managed to

- check and grease the brakes front and rear
- fit a radio
- partially sort out a central locking issue (needs more work on that but probably just misbehaving because it hasn't been used in ten years)
- changed the rocker cover gasket
- polished the headlight covers
- cut back the paint on the rest of the car

My word it's looking good now!

It was good to meet some of the fccuk stalwarts yesterday and got some useful tips. Shame I missed the headlight refurb.
Good show and got myself cj auto's tilt ramps on a £100 discount incl delivery - decent saving!

I went, decent show really to kick off the year!

Was 3 coupes on the stand i think? - and no turbo?!

Got talking to the guy with the silver 20v mainly about his horn bracket as his was nice and shiny silver!.... the complete opposite to mine!

There was also Neal's black n reg 16v near the entrance on the high miler stand. I thought the early models were only in red, blue and yellow confused

Red, Green, Yellow, Blue, Black.

It was getting a lot of attention up there, from the occasional trips I made to keep it company.

I have an '96 Inky Blue 16VT

Might that be "electric" blue?

We have/there is a 16v electric blue sitting (for years frown ) in a back garden west of Edinburgh

Edit - sorry, didn't see Pete's post, yes, blitz blue rather than electric - although is there a difference?

I thought Blitz was slightly darker the Electric?
Mine is definitely Inky though.
