Goodwood Breakfast Club - 27/03/2006 04:55

Has anyone else noticed this new venture from the Goodwood team. They have started a Breakfast Club that meets the first Sunday of every Month, except September which is the weekend of the Track Revival meeting this year. Breakfast served from 0900 to 1300, produce from the Goodwood Organic Farm. For Classic cars, pre and post war, all welcome. This month coming, the 2nd of April, is Italian Sports Car theme.
Check out their site for all details www.goodwood.co.uk/breakfastclub . Perhaps a good opportunity for a Coupe meet.

Sounds excellent and the first one got a very good review in Autocar the other week - big turn-out and a good variety of cars.
If only it wasn't 400 miles away from me.

I'd heard of this and will try and go along this Sunday

Had to go to Goodwood today, as you do. Speaking to staff on the Airfield, apparently 600 people plus turned up for the first meet. I won't be able to make it this weekend but maybe in May.

Re: Goodwood Breakfast Club - 03/04/2006 14:34

Right I went along with my 6-year old son and it was a great morning!

Nice drive along the Sussex coast, then into Goodwood where you are marshalled into the 'Italian sports car only' area

Dozens and dozens of Ferraris - perhaps a hundred?, a dozen Lambos, a dozen or so Maseratis, loads of Lancias (esp Integrales), old and new, Alfas, Fiat 500s and a small showing of the Fiat X1/9 owners club.

A lovely solitary Alfa SZ, and 2 coops (don't know whose the other was, Silver T-reg).

I think there is only one Italian car day this year, but next year it would make an excellent club or area meet.

It's free too, except for the cost of a bacon buttie & coffee

Same here if I'm about. Could do a mini-meet in the normal car park I spose as that's where non-supercar drivers will be sent.

Re: Goodwood Breakfast Club - 30/05/2006 04:25

Is anyone still up for the Supercars day next Sunday? I won't have the Coupe , but I'd still be on for meeting up in the car park if anyone else is going .

No just spectating this time. It was a good atmosphere last time, an excuse to have a good drive along the coast on a quiet Sunday morning

Re: Goodwood Breakfast Club - 05/06/2006 03:20

Wow, what a morning ! I can honestly say that I have never seen so many exotic cars in one place, and to cap it all, it didn't cost a penny to get in and get up real close .

I took 70 photos and all of them are of lovely cars, so here is a selection for those who couldnt make it (Gumball3000, was that your Coupe in the car park?)

Porsche Carrera GT (one of two there!)

Ferrari 288GTO

Ferrari Daytona & 512BBi (not very modern, but I always wanted a 512 when I was growing up....still do!)

Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale (one of two there)

Ferrari 575 Superamerica

Genuine AC Cobra 427 (one of at least five that I saw )

Ferrari Enzo (sounds awesome from 3ft behind the exhaust )

Ferrari F40

Gallardo

Murcielago

Countach

and my personal favourite

Diablo SV

As you can see, some really nice cars on show . It comes to something when standard 355s, 360s, 430s, 550s, 575s and the like get lost in the crowd...

Re: Goodwood Breakfast Club - 07/06/2006 03:29

I wasn't in my Coupe mate, it's being rebuilt by Auto Integrale at the moment, so I went incognito .

Nice photos ! I was passed by an Ultima GTR racing with a DB9 on the way home . I just wish that I'd been in the Coupe to see if I could have kept up for a while...

Re: Goodwood Breakfast Club - 07/06/2006 20:35

Think that was the Daytona that I saw last year at the festival of speed. Was stupidly loud

Anyone going to the festival of speed this year? I'm going down on the saturday 8th (its the world cup final on the sunday).

It's a 1955 750 Monza, a rare 4 cyl Ferrari. He bought another set of wheels for it the other day. I think they cost more than I paid for my coop!
