3 hours in my coupe is lovely

but its the drive back and the 6 hours min drive there and back lol

i would love to come....

i will speak to my mate and see if he wants to get insured on my coupe so we can split the driving and it will stop me talking to my self for 3 hours!! lol

a lot of us make a weekend of it and stay over for a couple of nights which is a good laugh and a nice break rather than doing there and back in a day.
always an option as that is what i will be doing!!

this time ill leave the tent at home and book a room at the hotel, wish i could have stayed last year!

Besides which some of the Scottish contingent who attend these fairly regularly would laugh at a mere 3 hour journey

tip...avoid the copper kettle if were going to same place we did last year

theres a travel lodge in carlisle, not sure about the lakes but there is alot of b&b in keswick what will charge around 20-40 quid a night..

It was better when we stayed at that place near Kirkby lonsdale really. (tho it's prolly more expensive)

would recommend it though and will probably be where I'm gonna stay.

Accomodation Keswick and around about is ten-a-penny, jobs in hotels are the only employment going round there. I'll be there, my wife and daughter are in Workington, so I might bring them along. Some great driving round that area, may I suggest a blast throught the dual carriageway between Keswick and Cockermouth. That bit of road is epic, if you know it... ;-) I'll keep an eye on this thread and duly attend.

Is anyone leading on this already or should I get my finger out as Northern Co-ordinater?

It looks like some are missing the significance of the LAKES MEETS

These meets have in the past been a weekend affair based in or near the lakes. Many people pop along for the day but many also stay in the Hotel and enjoy the socialising, the facilities oh and to see Dave's Jacuzzi diving

I do hope to be able to attend again this year but 2009 is already looking like an expensive year for me, and I may have to pass

I have already committed to Spa and tentatively committed to Turin, I also have to get a Turbo & 2009 is Cambelt time too

If no-one else wants to run with this then I'll pick it up? We need to decide on potential dates first. If the 2009 AGM takes place in September again, can I suggest a weekend in August to try to spread the cost for people?

Every time I go to one of the lakes meet I come home with sore jaws caused by laughing.

Unlike Steamer who also come home with sore jaws... no-one knows exactly why but cowboy comes out of the same room as him looking awfy chuffed but yet empty

I have seen a few post`s looking for other hotels for this meet, so i have got my inlaws who own a hotel/pub in penrith to do a special price for coupsters
The rooms at the Agricultural inn are normaly £80 for a double and £50 for a single but i`m assured they will be considerably less for us(not got prices just yet)i`l get them asap

BUT.. if we did decide to change venues there is another Hotel/pub 30yrds away with another 8 rooms which we may be able to negotiate a deal with.

Whoop Hall isn't too bad really. 87 quid a room B&B or 60 quid per person Dinner B&B or stat Friday and Saturday Dinner B&B, get Sunday for a tenner Includes use of the Sauna, Steam(ers) room, Pool and Gym.

Think it would have to be a Saturday as a lot of guys come along for the coupe meet in the afternoon, which after all is the whole point.

Usually there is 25-30 coupes there and the vast majority don't stay over.

How about the 25th April or 2nd May then??

I`ve changed my status on the meet as Kim`s going to be working on most of those dates and won`t be able to go (you`ve got a reprieve Steamer ). I should be ok for anytime but i`ll have to just make it a day trip as i`ll be needed to take Kim to work as there aren`t many buses running at 5:30am round our way .

The meet usually happens on the saturday afternoon,most of the guys just come for that.

Just depends how long you want it to last if you're staying over,even some come on the friday night and leave on the sat/sun night.

I'll definitely be going to this, regardless of date (unless it's Easter weekend but I think we're avoiding this anyway, right?). I'll be stopping over on the saturday only, and the mrs will be going as well.

Date for the big coupe meet 2nd MAY 09 which is a Saturday, as in the past we have met in the early afternoon at the sportsmans where there is plenty of parking and some nice grub,so think that should stand..All postcodes and direction will be on this thread well in advance.

Can we work the other stuff out from this date,Flyingcustard has mentioned go karting,would it be a good idea for Dave(FC) to try and make this the morning of the meet, that way the guys who only live an hour away or so could pop up/down and then convoy to the meet depending on how far away it is of course.

Every time this meet come up it seems like a disaster but ends up a great day..trust me I'm a doctor.

The building in the background(not the ruined castle)to the left is the Station inn here is pic very close and you can park in the Agi`s car park as the Station does`nt have one.

Theresa, I saw your car last year at Tatton Park (at least I think it was yours) and it was lovely! I have a stoved in door, dented bonnet lip, heavy scratching and mis-matching paint (on a black car!). I'd be letting the side down, especially if you think yours is far from perfect! It so happens that I'm having to take a contract which will have me working that weekend anyway, so couldn't have made it in the end. You all have a cracker and I'll try and make a North West meet soon, just try and make it an evening one, it looks cracking in low light!

"Had" a problem with the fueling which I thought me and Kelv had sorted.

To cut a long story short the problem has come back...fing bastarding fer.

Literally drove out of the mechanics after new brakes and pads fitted and I felt the hesitaion which starting getting worse.


Pissed off now,the lakes meet is a far as I'm concerned the best.

I have a few dings in mine and the rear quarter under the petrol cap is dented to fccuk from the previous owner. Only looks better these days because the bodykit hides most of it's previous damage (picked up by a forklift, melted rear bumper, etc)
