Some quick paranamic stiched pics. The cars were paerked 3 deep. Having had a mosey around the rest of the show I would say we had the single biggest number of the same car model.

Good to see soem old and new faces, some wonderful coupes too.. and all cleaner than mine frown

Had a quick look around this section, was a really good number of coupes.
Turned up too late to get my coupe there with all the others though, some lady turned me away saying the site was full. frown
Great day though!

Cracking day, excellent weather and at least fifty four Coupes!

We did very well on the hill as well.

All in all a cracking day I thought, thank you to the club for organising it as well as they did.

Fantastic day well worth the 364 mile round trip. Some great cars love that I'll probably never see again cry Great to put some faces too names as well thumb and a fantastic turnout for the coupes(is that the most too a uk event?).

Re: AutoItalia Brooklands May Pictures and Discussion - 02/05/2009 19:42

Got to agree cracking day out and great seeing so many Coupes.
Cars of the day for me had to be Chris Evans FAB 1 Ferrari 250GT California and the red Bizarinni (not sure of spelling here).
Being my first Italian car day I just couldn't believe the variety of stuff there including things like Strada Abarths I thought had long rusted away. BTW anyone see the 360 that expired at the top of the hill with very expensive clouds of smoke coming out of it?
Look forward to the next one. cool

Nice to meet, erm nobody, I was mincing around in my gayboy vest. Good coupe turnout!

My Pics

Above are my photos from today, if you want me to email one of your coupe them please PM me. I got a few of the coupes hill-climbing but they weren't that good, can send if you really want.

Ps please don't add me on FB - only if you actually know/have ever spoken to me. smile

Nice day folks, good work on the turnout. One unexpected highlight for sugarbear and myself was seeing a F40 laying down some elevens on the M25 on the way home! (Did I mention I've been in an F40?). smile

Re: AutoItalia Brooklands May Pictures and Discussion - 02/05/2009 21:03

Yeah great day - looked like the FCCUK Club had the best turn-out of almost any section cool and my car was the only one of its colour yipee (light red metallic)

Great to put some faces to names (Barnacle, Barmybob, Bockers, Inzy, Coopsnoop, Porkypaul, Sedicivalvole, & Countrycruising) and I was impressed with Brooklands in general - lots to see & do, great atmosphere, a celeb appearance, and the historic banking actually raised hairs on the back of my neck...also, in one of the planes (the 4-prop cargo plane) I got chatting to an elderly gentleman who actually piloted that very "crate" for some years - fascinating stuff I can tell you!

Even Mrs Jas_racing & Miss Jas_racing Junior enjoyed themselves! shocked

Thanks all for the organising, although I think next time a longer-lasting gazebo might be an idea wink

What a fantastic day out yesterday. As a family, there isn't many places you can go for £28 and all find something to entertain you. I really love all the displays at Brooklands, and even though I have been there a few times before it was a first for junior...here are a couple of memories of the day.

It was fantastic to meet up with everyone yesterday; I hope you all enjoyed the day as much as both Trish and I did. Unfortunately I missed Chris Evans, but I heard really good things about him, sounds like he is a really nice guy.

One thing I am most pleased about was that I was able to leave the event this year without a glowing red head. I caught the sun but not as bad as some. When one of us left the event it looked like they had an extra special LE feature, a black and red headrest biglaugh

There was some really lovely cars there and the coupe turnout was fantastic, best coupe meet I've been to yet along with meeting some new and old faces and 4 Vincy grey LE's smile

The link should take you to my pictures, I was able to take videos of the first hill climbs by Paul, Neil and Sugarbear, not the best of positions but standing ground was limited in the morning.

I've had my head buried in the back-issues of AutoItalia magazine I bought on Saturday (6 for £10, March/April 1997 has the "new" 20V and 20VT Coupé's in, March 2000 has a review of the 20VT Plus read )

An excellent day out.
Have lots of pics, will put up soon.

tx for the BBQ grub too.

Slightly off topic...
Just fixed my steam engine Vinci LE
(covers fellow coupsters with white smoke
on arrival at Meets, very romantic)
i guess they dont mind too much.

The manifold decided to part from the head,
could see the gap from underneath ! 4 loose
bolts, so just tightened them up.

Anyhow, now im v happy.

Re: AutoItalia Brooklands May Pictures and Discussion - 04/05/2009 21:25

my bonnet was open most the day? mostly so people could advise me on what was breakinf newxt but everyone thought it was fine.
i got worried as it started puffing alot of smoke on idle for a long time when left idle for a long time but joe was soon to tell me that was quite normal and at worse a turbo seal slightly weak. if it pops i want a upgrade anyway :-)

Just to say thank you to all the members that came to Brooklands, it was nice to see everyone there, be it new members or old members smile

I got a couple of photo's of coupe parking area, after i climbed up on the fire truck, i'll get these up later. As for the video's of the hill climbs, i'm going to order a firewire card for the PC, as when capturing it on the laptop, result's in the footage being jerky and missing bits.

I believe he has it sorted now smile

Re: AutoItalia Brooklands May Pictures and Discussion - 08/05/2009 14:26

Ha
Sorry PorkyPaul mate.
Once it was warmed up it ran ok.
Go me back to Braintree ok, some 1hr 45 mins drive.

Manifold had 4 loose bolts. Did it myself too without
draining the coolant. Im getting flash. Undertray was
the biggest fccker I've ever wish to met, took an
hour to put back on.

I also had steering wheel vibration, due to square
alloys, something the last owner left me plus I hit a
pot hole in December. Anyhow, all that vibration might of
made the manifold come loose on route.

Very glad not a cracked manifold. I guess its always worth
trying to grab an uncracked one from any local breakers
in case of future cracking ?

Also got wheels sorted now. Im actually now experiencing
smooth Coupe driving for the very first time.

At the next meet I'll try not to shorten anyones life !
