Girly here wanting to go to her first Coupe meet. So basically, does anyone want to meet me or is anyone meeting up in this area soon?!?!

This time of year is rather quiet on the Coupé meet front. Many of the meets that do take place at this time of year often don't even have any Coupés at them

Me and my mate (both 16vt's) will probably be at the show. The Mrs will probably be driving my coupe.

Marco ace cafe is like really far away for my first meet! I'd be scared! What if I got there and thought omg theres loads of naughty boys in coupes and ran away!

Manningtree was going to be a tough one for me as I am working nights that weekend, so yes I would be happy to replace the event with this one.

Another bonus is that I know where this place is, so no sat nav required, I should make it easy

damn, now I have two weeks less to clean the car

Quickest and most interesting route for me is Braintree, Halstead, Sudbury, Bury St Edmunds - Nice roads if anyone wants to come along

We're considering coming and seeing what Bury St Edmund's has to offer the passing tourist; we may stop in the place Saturday night.

Bury is quite a nice small town.

Make sure you check out what is said to be the smallest pub in Britain (The Nutshell), it's just up the road from a good model shop too

Hi all, i don't think i will be able to make this meet,as i don't think i will have my car finished in time.Refurbing my engine bay,wheels,fuel cap,and waiting for my water pipes to arvive from the group buy so i can fit them plus my new radiator at the same time. As for a route how about this: We meet at the white horse at 12.

Down the A134 past Sudbury to Braintree to pick up the Essex mob. Potter round the A120 and back up the M11/A11 back to the white horse and a lateish lunch.

It's a good mix of roads with the odd bit bit of open no-camera dual carriage way for those who want to to exceed 60 mph. About 90 miles.

Well that was an interesting meet, how many times did we get lost?

It was a great turnout for an Anglian meet though, thirteen participants + one passer by. Wil got a bit of a shock when we all turned up in his local supermarket car park

A good meet always gives the Coupé spirit a bit of a stir and today really did kick start my enthusiasm. Roll on the Brooklands meet

now i see, there really was a tesco after all! lol.

Thanks to all who came, I had an awesome day, and you all seem like really nice people(!)

Good to bump into you guys today (I was the random in the Sprint Blue that turned up at Notley Tesco to do some shopping). Particularly nice to see some old faces that I haven't seen for ages and some nice looking, well looked-after cars. I haven't been on a meet for years but this afternoon has re-kindled my interest once again!

Still thinking about yesterday, it was an awesome day. I've never done anything like that and really enjoyed it.

Lots of funny memories:
- Hearing the evo police car sirens and thinking "ohhhh sh..."
- Boosted7 booting it past that police station!
- The random motorbiker standing in the middle of the road
- Driving through a town centre (not sure which) and having every single person in the street stare at us with their mouths wide open
- Whoever was in front of me when we went past that big stately home slamming on to check it out, glad I was looking in front not checking it out!

I'm sure there are loads more!

The Evo interceptor with its blues going was funny - especially from far enough back to be certain it wasn't for me . I wonder what the poor innocents/thieving chav scum had done to deserve their attention.

Is there an out door karting track in East Anglia? I'm happy to organise a session and meet. I could use my legendary weather powers to ensure that we have..er.. *interesting* weather.

I have a bit of a reputation for being something of an anti weather god. This was about an hour before I left for an FCCUK barbecue last summer:



Not to mention taking every body to the coast "to get some good pictures" in the fog/mist.

So there's some justification for Pilgrim baiting

I've had a look at the Kart tracks near Newmarket and Beccles (which are run by the same company) it looks as though 30 - 40 laps (the track is 1.2 km) will cost between £40 and £50. The indoor track is £265 per hour for exclusive use (they will let up to 8 karts on the track at the same time.)

I'll let you do initial comments here then start a new thread if we're serious about this.

Yeah it just wouldn't be "authentic" without it!

there is two go cart tracks at newmarket on the same junction! (opposite sides of the dual)

Red lodge on one side
Wild tracks on the other.

I've been to both recetly, both are very good fun. both about 50 second laps.

The one at Beccles is run by the same people that used to run the Indoor Go Cart Centre in Norwich.
Personally i think the ones above are better tracks.

What do others think to a bit of go karting fun?
