And VDO voltmeter to replace the clock, as it was becoming annoying to see it constantly at the wrong time since I disconnect the battery when the car is in the garage. smile

I think it's tough enough but it does seem to stain from dust etc. getting stuck in the grain.

I got some powder from a latex glove on the ashtray cover while fitting it and then ended up staining the whole thing trying to clean it with the usual dash cleaning type solution... ended up just taking it back out and respraying it with more plastidip, lol.

I've done the grille in plastidip and its taken the hammer of stones and jet washing in its stride. Not a mark on it.
Its all down to how clean you get the piece and how you put it on.
I've use genuine plastidip which is great and ive tried slightly cheaper brands which I wasn't impressed with.

nismo, plastidip is easily strong enough to withstand general use, but more importantly is much easier to repair than any other finish.

Had a clumsy moment and put a big scratch in it? No problem with a well directed burst from a can. New coats merge seamlessly into existing layers.

Graham, try Autoglym rubber and vinyl care with a quality microfibre, nothing powder based should stain it.

Great to see my handy work fitted smile

I was thinking of doing my track wheels orange with plastidip blaze as it seems to be easy to remove once back home .

Done the same with mine. A job and a half getting the ashtray out. I just use a duster. Picks up the dust. The rest of the time I refuse to touch it. Just in case!!

I just need a red hazard light!!

Fatash and I dipped his wheels black, with no surface prep (to the wheels) its durable enough to run with but as you say easy to peel off when you get bored smile

That looks really good, think I'll give it a go on my handbrake console! The plastic has started peeling away and becoming sticky - I got a massive telling off last week when it left a big black mark on the bottom of my missus' handbag!! laugh

I've done my wheels in black plastidip and they they have lasted well.
Slight peel round the edges but think that was due to residue grease and dirt.
Shake for about 10 mins, That's what me and One4seven have learnt.

Ollie (one4seven) did my centre console, ashtray and handbrake console too.

Fitted them in relative darkness last night. Very happy with the finished look

Just needs a wipe down now to get my finger prints off it.

Looking good Joe, well done for not marking it too much during the install.

I had mine out (again) at the weekend moving my boost gauge - never gets any easier!

I don't think I've marked it at all. It looks like the handbrake console is marked at the back in the pic above, but I checked it today and it's not yipee

Because me and One4seven didn't shake the cans for the correct period. The plastidip came out a Lil thick. The wheels kinda have a rough finish because of this fact.

I'm sure you can get a smoother finish if you shakes the cans longer then it suggests.

Dipyourcar.com on youtube is quite useful too.
