Hi,

I've been lurking around this forum for a few weeks now and I thought I should introduce myself!

I've come from having a S14a and wanted something different for my next car. I had a bit of a thing for the Coupe back when they were released and I'm now on the hunt for a 20VT.

I've done a fair bit of background reading on these cars including studying the buyers guide. The FAQ is a brilliant section - I learnt a lot! This looks like a very informative forum \:\)

Cheers \:D

Chris

Ah this is a truely great week - yet another newbie who doesn't sound like a chav! Welcome!

I'm sure you will miss RWD - but love the styling & character of the coupe. The noise too!

\:D Thanks for the welcome!

I loved my old car but I got rear ended very badly and have since decided to have a change. The RWD was fun but could be a bit interesting in the wet as the 200's don't have traction control!

I had the choice between a Golf VR6, Calibra/Cav Turbo or 20VT Coupe. I think the Coupe is the pick of the bunch and the looks alone sold it to me (I was a big Vaux-head before the S14a hence the Cally/Cav).

I'm sure I'm going to enjoy finding the right Coupe for me - test drives start next week \:D

Get yourself along to the South Meet on the 14th October if you can - it starts in Winchester, you'll get to see plenty of different Coupes there (look for the thread in the Events section) \:\)

Don't worry if you don't have a Coupe at the moment, you'll be more than welcome \:\)

Do'h I'm busy that weekend, but I will come to one of the south meets \:\) Although I may get a few laughs in my current runabout - a 1.4 Arosa "Salsa" edition!

Yep welcome. Lived in Cosham for a bit. Pompey gets slated but I still think it's a great city.

Good luck in picking the right Coop.

Cor blimey, I should hope so! I think you should be looking at Scooby, Alfa GTV, Corrado VR6, Integra Type-R, or Clio 182 as possible alternatives mate. Those other cars really aren't in the same league as the coop °\(

Good luck with finding the right coop \:\)

My nan lived in Cosham - Hawthorn Crescent. I remember seeing "The Eagle has Landed" on the matinee when the cinema was just one huge auditoreum.

Anyhows, back on topic - best of luck finding your coop!

I'm a big Pompey fan, for the football and the city; dispite working in Southampton!

I'm hovering around the £3k mark and ideally I wanted another turbo'd car, although the noise of the VR6 was immense. I did think about the 3.0L Alfa, but I found the Coupe to be the prettier alternative (debatable for some I'm sure!) and it has a turbo. I'm not keen on the scoobies and it'd be a bottom of the barrel 172 for the money. There is also the MR2 turbo but I need some boot and preferably 4 seats!

Thanks all for the warm welcome I can see this is a great forum with plenty of knowledge and a clearly very important member (Carlt) for any parts required! I'm looking forward to my first test drive!
