I have had a look at the alarm facts but cant see anything so was wondering if you can help please.
I have just got the coop last weekend. the alarm arms and locks car fine, but there is no noise, not even when i set the alarm off by opening the door. it just flashes. how do i turn on sound
Also not sure what alarm i have. my car is a 98 LE.
Any help appreciated

If it's a factory alarm, the siren is known to fail. But I personally would prefer a silent alarm. After all they just annoy people and whoever is entering your car will just be looked at like he accidentally set it off. It's the immobiliser that does the job, not the alarm. Have a look through the alarm info on here to identify the location of the siren (if you dont already know it) and see if it is plugged in. Yours wouldnt be the first coupe that I have come across that has had the siren unplugged purely because of previous faults that may now be rectified

Am not sure, but if you look through some of the alarm threads on here you will find details of how to check. The style of fob you have is a good initial indicator

Thanks for link. I cant see where the siren is installed though. Also whether the alarm has the ability of turning off the noise, or whether its just broken
