Since my coupe has been lowered and with the lower brace on, it seems to scrape most speed bumps, epsecially the air bag type.

Well last week when i was visting a site, i scrapped 2 air bag type speed bumps (out of 3) then leading in to the site (a school) i saw a rather large gate stop... first time over it didn't hit it ... but on the way out (it looked even bigger this time) i thought to my self, there is no way im going to make it over it... well yeah i was right i must have hit it around 10-20mph, it made the most loud cringing noise....

These strut braces can take a good smack and still stay intact, great bits if kit i tell ya!

the only way with speed bumps is one wheel on one off unless its a full kerb to kerb then its 2 miles an hour if you want to keep your bits intact

I would be tempted to remove it.
Does it make much difference having it fitted ?

That brace makes a lot of difference!!!

It does sharpen up the front of the car, BUT if you have a low car and clout the brace you to have the risk of bending the sub frame. You certainly have to be aware that it's on the car and drive accordingly.

I hope not too much damage has been done to the car in this case.

correct - i've clouted mine once or twice, at very low speed, and even flea banged it on the lie-down parking posts at his house

Well - that's a stiffer test than I ever expected it to survive

However, You've stuffed your subframe and the wishbone mounting bracket - I would have thought the brace mounting bolt would have given way first

I think I may have over-engineered them....

the brace does make a great diff to the handling!

yeah i have indeed stuffed the subframe and mounting bracket, i have it booked in a garage in a few weeks time to see if they can bend it back. The car still handles fine but makes some errr.... funny noises....

The thing is, it was one of those times where i just didnt want to get out the car and look... So i couldnt tell you, im heading that way again soon so i will do a drive by and have a look...
