I am surprised you need to ask mate. But as you are £2,000 max. Just have a look what other folks are asking on here,PH etc.

Coupedummy without a coupe you'd be a dummy to sell it after all your efforts and not to mention the costs. Don't do it.

After seeing your car at Motormech a couple of months ago I think its got to be worth at least £3000.
Your car basically needs nothing doing to it new engine, cambelt, clutch, CHOD, better suspension and a respray is going to cost £3k plus. The way I see 20vT prices should be like sub £1000 - a dog needing clutch, cambelt, and major bodywork. £1000-2000 Two of the above need doing. £2000-£3000 A tidier example with not much needed to be done. £3000+ good example needing no major money spending in next 12-18 months.

I think around £1500. I dont think many people will be able to look past the 170k mileage. Hope you get more though! Sorry

Theres a lovely Inky on PH at present with 88k, for £1150 - totally standard Buy it Chrissy? Believe you me, me and the Mrs have talked over and over of the idea of selling the Leon, investing some into our house and buying a 20vt... Im seriously giving a 20vt some thought at the mo!

Offers of 1000 would be quite a joke really considering the uprated suspension, plus wheels, seats ,respray..find another like that for 1000.id rather burn it...lol .suddenly gone are the days in coupe ownership that mileage is just a number...
other items missed off are Refurbed gloss black center console sony stereo and uprated infinity speakers all over Brand new radiator 1k miles ago Supersprint exhaust Plus other stuff I am sure of. The car will want for nothing. Not cambelt, radiator, oil cooler, aux belts, clutch, bodywork, wishbones, top mounts etc True you never get back what you put into motors.
I did not go for the le and I would spend on that for cambelt and sods. Im going to see how the summer pans out...proberbly just a phase...in other news my brother has just brought a sprinty blue 20vt

just look at your pics man, think of the laughs and the friends you've made with this car, think of Spa and the AGM and other days out.yes you can get better/faster/more eonomical cars.
the almost priceless aspect to me is the camaraderie, friendships and people you get to know. think about what you value the most, and act on that alone. money is only a commoddity mate, you'd spend it on something if not this car!!

i have just decided to keep mine as coupe's dont seem to selling for much more than a grand at the mo, to be honest i don't think with the mileage on it you would get much more than a grand for it, even given the money you have spent on it, frustrating but just seems to be the way it is at the mo

I think you guys are mad. How can anyone really suggest his car is only worth a grand??
I bought my sprinty last year for £3425 which had 117k miles on the clock, so mileage is certainly not an issue if the work has gone into the car.

Well I think you would definitely get good money for it if you broke the car. And I'm not just saying that because I want to buy the rear ARB off of you......
You have so many good and newish parts on it you could put it up for 2.5-3k and if you struggle to sell it for that break it and you should get that much in parts, maybe more......
Now in the 400+ bhp club!

Personally, I think a known car on this forum, with good history and all jobs done speaks volumes. I looked at several a few years ago (when buying mine), and all to often the owners were lying through their teeth about condition and servicing etc.
I paid £3400 for mine 4 or 5 years ago. It's since had many, many parts replaced/renewed, and only covered about 6k since I bought it (on 64,000). But I'm sure in the current climate people will still insist it's worth about £1500. I think sellers should be sticking to their guns when they know they've got a good car. Quality will speak for itself upon viewing.
I'd pay 2.5k for coupdummy's car all day long!
Peace of mind is worth soooo much - esp with a coop!

They are old cars which aren't cheap to run. Once the current spate of breakers have gone (because the parts are worth more than the whole) they will become increasingly more difficult and expensive to maintain.
I don't see them getting the same supprt old MGs, Triumphs, Jags etc do, because they are far more complex and still have to comply with modern MOT regs. One article I read said that Electronics and Cats will sound the death knell for all but the most desireable (expensive) of collectors cars. That's if Europe doesn't push through legislation to get rid of them.
IMO the future isn't particularly rosy for the Coupe. There will be some nice ones around. But not many and I don't see them remaining as daily drivers in the fullness of time.
All my humble opinion of course.
