Falken 452s are great for grip i've had them fitted for the last few weeks now and they perform really well in the wet! Got mine from camskill but think they were a few squid more, still good value compared to the others.
I'll never use P-zeros way over priced for the performance they allow.

Cheers
John

I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.

Not wanting to re-ignite an old thread. But I just want to make sure of something.

I went to a local garage to price up some tyres today, and I asked for prices on the 225s. Now the guy was absolutely adamant that with 205s currently on the car, there will be no way in hell that the 225s will fit. Now ive read on this thread that they do. But I just want to be certain.

Will the 225s fit on my 20vt without rubbing on the arches etc? My car is lowered 30mm btw. If that make a difference I dont know?

Cheers.

I had no trouble with this width with the car lowered about 50mm.

assuming you're talking 205/50-16 vs 225/45-16, just check the book that came with your car. Fiat was fitting them on some models as standard, so no way they are going to cause any probs!

Cheers guys.
I wont be getting them off that guy now. I didn't like the way he was talking at me as if he was the tyre-king.
I'll go back to that guy when I get them fitted elsewhere and gloat. (if you weren't such an idiot you would have got £300+ business from me \:\) )

Although he did do a good price on the Goodyears. \:\(

I can fit 225/45s in place of my 205/50s with no changes to the wheel?

How does that work, they're wider.

StradoZ - wheels can accomodate differnet widths of tyre. The 7" wide rim on a standard Coupe wheel will take anything from 205 to 225 section with ease.

Don't forget the 205 or 225 measurement is in respect of the tread area, not the bead. The sidewalls can deflect a little, meaning the wider tyre will have the sidewall pulled in a little to sit on the rim.

Wish I'd known a couple of months back before I spent £200+ on my new P-Zeros I would have had 225s instead \:\(

Still at least I know now \:\)

no point in wider tyres unless they're cheaper - there's no more grip

More rubber in contact with the road yes but less pressure between each square cm of tyre and road - a balancing act really.

Mind you I always run 225 tyres - I'm sure they're better when pushed in the dry. Quite the opposite in the wet though.
