Whats the score. Meet on Saturday and a drive around somewhere. Dinner at Robs place . Stay over somewhere? Mini meet Sunday morning for those who are up to it ?
It's a busy week though. We are going to the Abu Dhabi GP the weekend before. Then Mrs c2d is going to Bath Christmas markets on Thursday then here on Saturday

Brilliant Chris if you can make it - we usually arrive through the afternoon from around 4-ish then meet up in either the Ibis, Rob's or Howard Arms which has real ale and lots of character, definitely my favourite. My son Ben usually comes down and he likes to get back home fairly promptly so we leave after coffee time Sunday morning but you guys can waltz home south in convoy

Will be great to see everyone again, lets hope the weather stays reasonable for people's journeys.
There's a great B+B 2 doors up from me which is literally a 4 minute walk to the restaurant, very friendly couple and have secure off-street parking if anyone is interested.

So I've a room booked
However...
I'm a Luddite.
I don't have a mobile, snapface, tubebook or a youchat so since I'm also face blind I need a rendezvous else I would walk right past you. I'll tell the bar I'm there. You tell them "I'm looking for Jeff Forrester. What I need is a bar to do that at; and the moo bar was shut last time I checked... I'll buy you a drink if you meet me.
That sounds fair?
Unless Rob is OK with vagrants popping up his bar.
Also What time is dinner?
Not sure If I should go to my hotel bar or some place else so proper locals tell me what to do please!
I can be emailed for this @ xmas2017@jackforrester.co.uk

Me and the two lads'll be heading for the Howard Arms Jack....
Rob/Theresa - what time are we booked in at La Mezzaluna?
Posted By: Theresa
Re: Carlisle Xmas Meal/Meeting 2nd Dec. 2017 - 10/11/2017 23:24
I usually check with Rob nearer the time as to what time is suitable for him as he has to juggle us around his other customers, depending on how many of us are going.
Jack, if you don't manage to catch up with Simon and lads, myself and Matt are usually propping up Rob's bar from around 5pm ish
We'll find you, don't worry

Re: Carlisle Xmas Meal/Meeting 2nd Dec. 2017 - 11/11/2017 10:17
Hi all,
If the party that is in before yours leave as expected, your table should be ready around 7.30. I'll keep Theresa up to date on the night.
As you can imagine, it can be pretty hectic on a December Saturday night and space is at a premium but there are however 4 bar stools that can be used if you want to hang around for a while.
Safe journey everyone

If the party that is in before yours leave as expected, your table should be ready around 7.30.
Due to previous parties altering their numbers and times, your table will now be available from 7pm so please feel free to come in from the cold and settle down for a blether and a few drinks before dinner.

Re: Carlisle Xmas Meal/Meeting 2nd Dec. 2017 - 11/11/2017 23:31
One of those bar stoools has my name on it from around 5pm ish
Yes, Rob text me earlier, but I was in work so have only just seen his text and don't want to reply at this time of night
As above, our table should be ready from 7pm for drinks, etc and food orders taken from around 7.30pm
Time has come around quickly, only two more Saturdays left to go and will see you all on the next one

Congratulations Dave and Heather.
Hope you are going to be introducing the laluns to the joy of spanering and the hard work involved. Building a first ride ETC.
Too meany young-uns today have an "ebike" mentality. They expect to get to the top without the pedaling!
Enough metaphors!
I'm sure they will be brought up knowing the value of hard graft knowing you two!
I remember when I went to one of these and there was an actual winter with actual snow but that was a long long time ago. Bet its double figures this year
I think there are some people missing from the list that I owe a round to...

Hopefully, no floods or snow this year
I plan to be in Carlisle around 4pm ish and plan to be at Robs drinking Peroni by about 5pm ish
I hope I don't have to, but please excuse me if I leave any parties early as alcohol, mixed with tablets I'm on seem to be making me quite sleepy, so I might need an early night this year

Thanks to all who managed to make the annual pilgrimage all the way to Carlisle, from both ends of the UK. It's always an honour and a privilege to play host to you guys (and galls), and it's a pleasure knowing such a great bunch of genuine people.
JeffUK; great speech, which I'm sure was echoed by everyone present.
T, enjoy your new sprinty, complete with lacquer
Neil, Anita, Brian and Pauline, thanks so much for the prezzies. Very generous and totally unexpected but gratefully received, I've had to stash the choccies from the Staff as they can smell them at 30yds!
Safe journey home everyone and hope to see you all again at some time in the new year.
On behalf of my staff and myself, I wish you all the very best for Christmas and the new year.

Wouldn't miss it for anything Rob, the extra mile you go to in feeding us is very much appreciated
The coffee this morning was about the nicest I've ever had too and the "meet" no.2 a great chance to fill in some of the chat missed last night
The young 'uns again jump at the chance to come and meet everyone, it's Kip's (Chris) 3rd dinner and my Ben's 5th! They are both made really welcome
I flunked it after the dinner and went straight to the digs as I was knackered and full but they two managed it out till 2.30 spurred on no doubt by good company!
Best to yourself and family Rob for the Christmas and NY period

Did I win the prize for the longest drive this year?
The bloody wires in the Cupra's window mechanism went ping on the motorway, half an hour from home: spent the first half hour sorting the alternator on the coupe and another hour getting the window to (hopefully) stay up.

Many thanks to all who made it to Carlisle, it was lovely to see you all.
A big thanks to Rob and Co who always make us feel welcome and serve the best Italian food
A very appreciative thank you again to Rob for buying me an Otto Sprint Blue Coupe model
My first Coupe without laquer peel
A lovely gift and will be treasured
Thank you to Jef_uk for his speech, I didn't hear it all, but from what I did hear, it made me feel valued and reminded me what true friends you all are
Also thanks to jef_uk for the Prosecco he bought for us all
Good luck with the op tomorrow Jack
Thank you all again, it's always nice to get away from where I live and the crap that happens at work, etc., and enjoy some time with friends, even if it is only for a day/night

Sorry we didn't make this guys.
Regrettably we had a water leak that brought down the ceiling and left a proper mess in the house
We usually like to tie up the Carlisle meet with a visit to see family in Yorkshire. Trish did get away on Sunday morning but yes we missed the meet and I've missed the whole trip
