In June last year I bought a portofino 20VT from a salvage company for £800. It had been written off as it had been severely vandalised having had large, very deep crosses etched into every single panel on the car and as a final kick in the crotch they had scratched "HA HA" into the boot!

HA HA
Try to ignore the skinny white chested man
Dented boot

I got it home to find that the damage was a lot worse than originally thought as the scratches were extremely deep - Carlt may remember this one as you didn't even think it was worth buying at £400. The wife thought I was nuts but the car had been immaculately cared for before the vandalism and ran like a dream so I saved up my pocket money and took her into the paint shop just before christmas.

Well - I finally got her home this week and the paint shop have done an amazing job - she looks like new (please remember from the pics that she has come straight from the shop and has not been cleaned - also, ignore the mismatched wheels too as they are going)

Who's the bald guy?
Woohoo
Not a joke anymore!

Lovely

AND the paint job only cost me £1000 - so for £1800 I've got a coop with a fresh paint job that I wouldn't have been able to afford otherwise - more than that though - I am pleased to have been able to save another coop from the scrapper.

Am chuffed to bits - just waiting for some new alloys now and she'll be mint. Can't wait to take her round Europe later in the year . . .

Technically TECHNICALLY - doesn't the car belong to me?

Well done that man (woman??!) - good "save". Looks really good.

For some reason that plate looks familiar - did it belong to someone on here previously?

Think it did belong to someone on here, Carlt knows who it was.
Not got log book back yet so have no name, but if anyone knows and wants to tell me that would be good
Just like to say before people say, yes the price for paint was cheap, no its not a cheap job bare metal job an all. Its just i have been in trade for years and the guy who painted her used to do all my cars and did me a good price.

A coupe saved - nice work \:\)

That security bollard makes me nervous though! I would have to put something on my seat or one day I would forget it is there °\(

Hey,that's a really nice job. How did they deal with the scratches?
The price sounds very reasonable and you've now got a mint car in a fabulous colour AND saved it from the scrappy. Nice one.

I like the typical coupé accessory, or secondary braking system as it's more commonly known *rock* on ;\)

Looks great!

Fair play and well done indeed - £1000 for a respray is cheap - why can i never find a bodydhop/or have mates that could do it for that much money. I'd get it done tomorrow!

Coupe now sold!

Niiiice \:\) Excellent outcome from some idiocy which means that you got a quality car at the end for much less than you should have.

Hahaha vandals! Who's laughing now?

\:D

P.S. I'm gonna have to be careful if I see you around now as I dont want to end up in a ditch checking your paintwork out! \:\)
