I think someone did with an audi TT type cap.
I seem to remember people were about to slate the thought of doing such a thing but in reality it looked quite good. Must admit I love the coupe fuel cap as it makes going to the petrol station a real joy as people look over. I think it gives the car a real classic look. However IMO the flush filler also looks good and can compliment other body, wheel modifications.

I think Circolo has a flush filler cap. Do a search with his username and you should find some pics thumb

and i think you'll find it's a brilliant piece of work and really suits the shiny black car - probably not a mod everyone would like, but it's certainly lovely imo.... cool

I also think the petrol cap is one of the most distinctive parts of the coupe, having said that - the flush cap works very well on that particular car.

Good job!

Personally I think the flush filler cap looks great, wonder how much effort is to to do.

At the same time though the standard filler cap is also soooooo cool.

EDIT: Just read all that thread, a LOT of effort, looks class though.

yes i think circolo put a load of effort and cash into this, and the result is a stunning, different look of a beautiful car

Thanks for the comments lads.

Cash was mainly for the re-spray. Used to be moon-grey. And I wanted pure black.

However, the chap who did the work on the filler cap said it was an absolute bugger to do. Simplified a new metal plate was welded into place, then the new filler chamferred into the new metal plate. The work the bodyshop put in was superb.

End result - it still looks just as it came out of the bodyshop. Probably something to do with me doing less than 1,000 miles in the last 3 years!

smile

Love the look of this car mate, congrats on time, effort and original mods. But less than 1,000 miles in the last 3 years?!?!?!?! Is it REALLY worth owning it??!

I've been asking that question a lot lately.

Probably not, I guess. But I'd never get what want for her in terms of £££. So I'm happy to have the Coupe as my expensive treat.

smile

Fair enough.

I say drive it more! laugh
You've obviously spent a lot of time and money on it, you may as well reap the rewards by driving it a lot more. smile
