Hi guys. I've not posted for years on here, but this is an important one...

Kayjey is in the UK at the moment having recently bought his new coop over for service. He is stuck right now in London having been trying to get back to the Eurotunnel to get home.

The snow and traffic situation has meant that he has been stuck in the same area for many many hours... unfortunately he has with him his 3 month old child!

This is a personal plea to anyone that might live in the area, or know someone in the area who might be able to help. Either by collecting his lady and baby to take them to a safe house for the night or if they may even know someone in their area who could help? It's so bad that he has very little fuel and might have to spend most of the night in the coop.... NOT good! They've been there hours already...

Please, if anyone can assist at all, call or text Kayjay on his mobile asap. I've been giving him updates from online traffic reports and have given him numbers for local hotels, but no joy yet...

[numbers now removed]

Current location is on or around the A217 Burgh Heath just inside the M25.

Many thanks in advance if you can help or know someone who might be able to help. Even if it is just to provide somewhere safe and warm for a few hours...

Cheers
Sloggs

A local pub or bed and breakfast? Hostel? Hope they get sorted.

With a tiny baby in these conditions he could just call the police and I think they'd help.

The traffic is total gridlock all around them! All hotels are full... I've just forwarded them loads of B&B etc phone numbers in the area, but I suspect most will be full... the whole place is in chaos. frown

Hopefully some coopster in the area will pick up on this (but nowadays they're all usually in bed by this time) rolleyes

Enforcers advice seems best - check in to 49.00 a night room at a travelodge or something

If there was something I could do to help I would but i'm miles away, maybe he could call the RAC or the AA, 0844 873 0087 see if they can help, if not then if he runs out of fuel call 999 like ebforcer said.

Good luck

I've called around 40 hotels and B&B's, either no answer or claiming all full, even when I explain the situation... Not good.

I've spoken to Klaas, He is going to call 999 to see if the police can help because of having Lene in the car with them.
The roads around them are closed so no way to get to him from here.

Well, he has somehow managed to get to Headley, back on the other side of the m25 and is completely stuck now. Police are being called... hope they can sort something out! Thanks for idea & thoughts...

Sorry to hear what's happening and wish Klaas and family good luck.

I'm just sorry I don't live any closer (about a 3 hour trip or longer to get to my house from where he is) frown

I hope things go ok and that the police help them out.

Police no help, but luckily he's knocked on a door and found some nice people who've taken them in.... Safe at last! Let's hope they can get some rest and get out of here tomorrow... smile

Nice one and glad to know they're sorted.

Also, very nice of the people to take in strangers, especially the way things are these days and at this time of night too.

Shame the police couldn't/wouldn't do more to help them frown

Theresa, more like a three day drive at the moment.. you could be 5 miles away but still unable to help. Just hope the emergency services could get to them

Bugger. Too late now, well I hope so, but he was only a few miles from me and even less from emjay. So i hope i am too late and they are ok, but am here if needed! Ps. That area was utter grid lock last night, worst I have ever seen it, there was no-way in or out frown

Klaas isn't answering his phone at the moment - straight through to voicemail which suggests he's out of battery.

But if anyone can get a message - he knows where I am.

When his phone was in the charger it rejects calls... it was low on battery. Send him a text, he'll check it periodically I'm sure.... wink

It'd be awesome if someone he knows locally could step in , not sure if he'll make much more progress today looking at the weather / roads!!

Cheers

I'll text him. Theoretically I'm on my way to Germany today... we had a very small coupe meet on the weekend, me, him, and Nigel.

Lastnight he parked the coop at around 1:30 in the car park at the Cock Inn in Headley. I'm assuming he then found a home very near to that! smile

I haven't heard from them this morning, straight to answerphone so presume either dead phone or its on charge again. Have left texts and told him there are people around on here that might be able to help accomodate. I think he'll just need to sit this out to be honest, it looks bad out there again today......

I've just checked the road reports for the SE and things look like they're moving again, the M20 is back open so hopefully they'll be able to make the Eurostar today.

Roads are moving round here today (I think most people have taken a snow day (I have laugh )) tell him to avoid West London, especially Richmond / Putney (but I would be surprised if he went that way anyway) and tell him not to head mack to the M23 / A217 as they are bad, due to some accidents out that way. The M25 will be bad on that section, but if he is heading to the M20 I would suggest he just takes the M25 anyway, and sits it out. The back roads round that way will be alot worse I am sure!

PS. The Cock Inn is not a bad pub, if it were me I would hole up a few more days in there *hic* drunk

Heard from Klaas. They got some rest last night. Running out of food for baby Lene. He is going to try and find somewhere to get supplies and then go for the roads again. Maybe Anyone local to Headley could get in touch with him, even if to help him stock up through locally known pharmacy or something. His number is in the opening post.

Thanks guys.

I just tried calling him, but no response, if he reads this or anyone hears from him, he is only a mile or so from the town of Leatherhead, which will have supermarkets, chemists, etc for all his needs.. and I am maybe 8 or so miles and if he wants a coffee smile
