I've just booked and paid. First trackday for the coupe so should be fun. Done donny before but in a civic type r and my bro's m3.
Hopefully it will be dry.

Very tempted. smile

I take it this is short circuit rather than GP?
The Link also says 98db limit - it's pushing it for either the RX7 or the MK on drive by - is it one black flag and off for the rest of the day with Focussed these days? confused

last time i was at donny with javelin, to my knowledge, nobody was black flagged for being too loud and that was 98db limit and alot of cars sounded alot louder than 98db.

We had no issues with an m3 with scorpion system and civic type r with mongoose system.

Hopefully its the national circuit (short) much better than the gp circuit.

I was ok in the Westfield last time. It's pretty loud, but maybe not as loud as the RX or MK, Si??

Given the price, I'd expect it to the the shorter National circuit.

I think it's down to the circuit rather than the TDO. When I was too loud in the MK they were very good, they gave me a couple of chances, keep the revs down etc. That was in 2011, I'm not sure what it's like now.

Your RX7 is very loud Suba (sounds great), I doubt it would pass at Donington? I'm in Spain then sadly.

Gp circuit is awesome!

Mk is definitely louder than 98 drive by,but could bolt on extra exhaust bits to get by. The rx might just get by, do iwant to risk it?

National circuit might also help as you are not screaming at the top of 2nd when you go onto the pitlane straight.

I've got a 9" bolt on exhaust tip you can borrow. Well actually it's Senny Daves, but I don't think he'll mind laugh

It's black as well... And it might be longer than 9" as it was dragging on the floor and wore away on one side laugh

Not really, for what will be a Focused Events chaotic day with around 90-100 cars signed on. They've offered these prices for some time now.

My only concern with FE are the doubts over their fragile existence - weren't they were in receivership earlier this year?

That was Easytrack Dan. Focused Events has gone back to their core which is bike days to some degree.

It will be busy but that's why it's cheap. I'm going on the basis that the idiots are less likely to be in attendance given the colder weather etc etc.

Largely agree Jonny.

Wasn't confusing them with Easytrack (whose days were infinitely better run that FE!) - but you paid a little more for a little less traffic and queuing and chaos!

FE have barely run a car track day this year, wasn't there a reason behind this?

I can't see I big turnout at this time of year. That's what I'm hoping for at least.

I've done a bike trackday before with FE and all was fine. This will be the first with them for the car. I usually book with javelin.

Ah, that's what I'm remembering - FE booked a few dates at Mallory, only to pull them close to the actual dates. Then customers had issues with refunds or alternative days offered at Brands Hatch.

On the noise issue at Donny, last time I went they were pretty strict on the noise limit but maybe that was because it was a Sunday confused

I was black-flagged even on the warm-up/sighting laps at 9.30am, not the ideal start - i had to keep the revs/speed down to the extent even MattM got close to me laugh

I didn't have any issues last time in a type r. It was 98db same as this time. I'm taking the coupe this time though.

Donington is bloody daft re noise limits anyway. It's nowhere near residential property, and slap bang next to East Midlands Airport, with planes passing overhead every few minutes at a great deal more than 98db!
