Yes I can't believe it either, and seeing that it's 10 years there's no excuse for me not have an event as I've missed organising an open days many times in the past because of always being too busy.

The invitation is open to all Coupé owners, customers and friends, plans are already in place for the function room at the Drum and Monkey public house which is just down the road from the FCSS units, large parking area with good camping facilities, shower block, electrical hook up, wifi (£10/pitch) and a cooked breakfast for those who'd like to stay over, we'd need more than 10x people for breakfast to make it worth their while organising the chef on a Sunday.

I've put this idea to the Scottish contingent as a possible "tour", but not necessarily to replace a similar 4-day event that we did this year in June (over the same weekend as the FCSS event).

I've had no feedback at all so far which isn't boding well atm, but if it took on then that could make a significant increase in the numbers. I'll try and firm up asap.

Sunday breakfast, lunch and activities.


The plan is to enjoy a full English at the Drum Sunday morning, for those who are staying over camping please add their names for who'd like breakfast so I can let Liz know the chef will be needed, 10x names minimum.

After the plan is to leave The Drum between 11.30am-midday, annoy the locals as we leave and travel M50-M5 north onto the M40 south and exit at junction 12 for the British Motor museum at Gaydon.

Speaking with the museums management they've informed me that on the same day as our visit there's a Pre 1930 motorcycle run on so the main car park will be full of two wheeled vehicles and there owners and they'll be riding off and returning all afternoon. For our group we can park in their overflow site at the top of the hill which is large enough to accommodate all of us and only a short walk down the hill to the museum.
As a group we'll get a discount on the entry ticket to the museum, and if you keep the receipt you can return as many times as you like for free over the next 12 months.

Parking at the top also makes it handy for our Sunday lunch as I've reserved us 30-50 seats for roast lunch at the The Malt Shovel arriving at around 1pm, it's a 15-20 minute walk from the car park, they do have parking but only enough for 25 cars so if there’s more then that number, which it looking very likely they've asked us to park as planned at the museum so none Coupé guests can have priority to park for lunch.

It is "maybe", I broke a rod one year ago, the car is going for swap for a Plus engine only now, but I think it will be ready on early days of 2017.

I'm a possible for the Sunday, but likely to be the Gaydon part only.

To check out parking and the plans for our Sunday lunch I took a trip over to Gaydon yesterday and enjoy a roast beef dinner with all the trimmings at the Malt shovel public house, very enjoyable and the pork looks just as good so a big thumbs up for their food and service, very pleasant pub with happy staff and they offer real ales as well

Their car park isn't massive, capacity for 20x cars so can all able people park at the museum or on the old Warick road that's now a cul-de-sac at the top end to allow the owners/partners who'd struggle with walking take preference so they're on the pubs door step.

We do have two choices for where to park during lunch, on Warick road, 3rd exit off the roundabout as you come in to Gaydon, which does have yellow lines, on a Sunday, should be ok or the over flow car park as first discussed a few weeks ago at the top by the museum entrance, walking distance is easy from both so I'll let you guys decide, the main point here is to not overfill the Malt shovels car park as they'll still have locals arriving for lunch but with our predicted numbers we'll probably fill most of the pub, which brings me on to the final point and that's interested people who are 'maybe' and yet to confirm, can you guys let me know as I need to have a clearer idea of who's confirmed and coming as it's the difference between me order half a pig for the Saturday evenings meal or a full pig, we don't want to be running out of food of beer so check your calendars and partners diaries and update the list please not forgetting Sunday 18th June is Fathers day
