The journey continues....booked in with Joe at FCSS in October for some attention to bits of corrosion which have emerged in a couple places! Otherwise the heater fan seems to have decided to jack in? Heat is coming through whether you want it or not, but the fans are not working? First off I'll start with checking the fuses....

Had new rear shock absorbers and springs fitted by Joe at FCSS couple of weeks ago. Dropped off a spare handbrake centre console at my local paint shop for re-spraying satin black. I did the prep by cleaning off all of the black sticky gunge and removing the plastic handbrake gaiter and metal frame. If they do a good job I'll hopefully get the windscreen wiper plenum(?) done next just to smarten things up. I need to tighten up the Clarion stereo fixings somehow, as it seems to be the only thing now making a noise whilst going over bumps. She's driving as well as I can ever remember and I'm suddenly reluctant to lock her away!

Did you get the heater issue sorted? Tarnished connections on the 30amp fuse, quick wiggle and it resolved the blower issue, and Mark's erratic idling issue was down to a TPS failure.

Switched over my refurbished handbrake centre console having been resprayed satin black by Gloucester Coatings. Bit of metholated spirits on the wing mirror control and all looks much better than Mozzies previous hand painted one! Looking to find some thin rubber mat to trim for the storage slot?

Thanks to Joe at FCSS for sorting out my brakes today after I cooked the fluid at Brands recently. A huge improvement and hopefully by also switching to some OE pads, the "bite" I have been looking for can be found!

How's the induction noise with that K&N? Sounded pretty fruity as you left the yard Well Danny grinned his head off all the way home!

Fruitiness = fantastic. It's rare these days that you can tell what car is coming down the road just by listening to it. My friend has a 5 pot diesel Transporter with a nice exhaust and that sounds good. But a Coupe, with a modified induction system? Good call

Good call Yes, it just adds that extra something, which makes you feel you are driving a car with "personality". Sorry to read about the corrosion on your 156. I too have a few rust issues as well, which need a "plan" of attack!

Just ordered a new Hella starter motor from Mr Auto along with a new bonnet strut. Should be with me after the bank holiday!

Yes, I am pretty chuffed thanks. I feel the car now does look more in keeping with the effort & money spent on the mechanical side. Still plenty to do though!

My cigarette lighter works absolutely fine BUT, if I try to use it for a satnav or dash cam, the power supply keeps dropping out as the fit seems different to all my other vehicles???
Anyone suggestions?

Thanks Barnacle, that makes sense as mine works ok for its intended purpose, but not for anything we might describe as new millennium! I'll give the folded business card a go - I was disappointed not to have been able to record my recent Prescott hill climbs, hence the desire to check out what the problem was.
