Hi Ollie

I think I replied to your eBay message while I was in a France last week. Didn't we agree a combined price? However, the ad has finished now.

Anyway, well done for tracking me down on here - when can you arrange collection for and how wold you like to pay?

I'll pm you

I have the cable mechanism, but the gear lever has been hacked halfway up to get the Plus gearknob off - don't know how easy it is to swap the actual lever

Stuff that’s left (with renewed image links due to the eejits at Photobucket turning them all off….)

Very good engine - smooth and quiet with great oil pressure (about 2.75 bar fully hot - see photo). Compression test results -

Cold - 170, 165, 160, 160, 170.
Hot - 160, 160, 155, 160, 165.

Not bad for 140,000 miles and testament to how it was driven and how it was maintained

£700 collection only (or arrange your own courier - we can strap the lump down to a pallet)

click to enlarge click to enlarge

Six-speed gearbox - £400 collection only (or arrange your own courier)

Damn - its difficult to get a photo of a gearbox while its still in the car, but here you go...

Pair of Electric blue wing mirrors. Good condition, with only the tiniest amount of bubbling to the alloy £50 the pair + £10 P&P

PS - there's quite a bit of other stuff left, but I just need to photograph it and put up a new advert

Hi Nigel, do you have a rear light cup surround with original electric blue paint? I have one that looks like its been sprayed at some point in time looking to replace with an unmolested one. Thanks Chris

They are currently still in the car, but will be removed before it goes to the scrapyard

Not sure I want to sell only one though, as it will leave me with an incomplete set

Thanks, no rush for them.

If you see a melt free non trimmed rear bumper, front plus bumper or two plastic front lips and a set of original mats please let me know.

Should have a decent rear bumper in stock - I kept two back after we put the rest in the skip.

No Plus stuff, or mats, sorry

Yup - that's a fairly good melting you have there....

Sadly, I can't help you - the car went to the crusher last week - sorry

Rats - thanks anyway for quick reply.

Help me out - how would I describe that bit to someone else? The fuse, fitting and part of the wiring harness?

Its the fuse-holder for the ventilation fan - not sure how you would replace it though - will probably need a section of wiring loom cutting away and soldering in - not a five-minute job.

The engine and box are now on the floor of the workshop, but still together. I would consider sensible offers on the engine and gearbox assembly.

I also still have a modified oil cooler and flexi pipes and also a bigger exhaust downpipe (won't know what size until I get it removed, but it has an over-size V-Band fitting and what looks like an adapter on the turbo) I'll make a guess that the downpipe is 2.5" or 2.75", but probably not 3"

Also have a good turbo - possibly modded, but again, I need to inspect to be sure

This is my old Plus ( - I've often wondered what happened to it after I sold it in 2008.

I was only the second owner and I (well, Rog mainly beer ) gave it a lot of love. Seems it's been pretty well looked after since, makes me feel a bit better - and bits of it live on smile .

What's the story with it Nigel? Rust-related MOT fail?

Hi Roly - good to hear from you

The car was running fine - it only came in for a service, but when we put it on the ramps, we discovered terminal corrosion. Mostly in the floorpan, but in all the other normal areas too.

You could get your hand through some of the holes....

We were VERY close to advising the customer not to drive it home, as it wouldn't have fared well in a crash

Shame, but corrosion is what is claiming most Coupes at the moment

Just to say thanks - you did work on my car back around 2010 - I'm pleased to say it's still in pretty good shape, this snafu notwithstanding!

Hi Nigel,

Can you clarify which ancillaries are included with the engine.

At the current price, it doesn't include the following:-

turbo
exhaust manifold
exhaust downpipe
alternator
Aircon compressor
injectors
Camcover

It does include:

inlet manifold
coilpacks
engine mounts (not sure how good they will be though)
oil breather cannister & hoses
Clutch (again, not sure how good it is, but the car was a daily driver before being dismantled)
Cambelt cover

I'm happy to discuss a price with some or all of the ancillaries included - it will be a good price as it would prevent us spending time to strip it further

Also willing to discuss a price with a new cambelt and water pump fitted (far easier for us while the engine is out)

Sorry, no - the Plus didn't have a sunroof and I can't remember the last car we broke that had a sunroof worth removing - they are nearly all rusty
