Out of interest, what would a good condition low mileage (70,000) non turbo 16 v n reg be worth roughly? I know there are a few variables to that question but if you were talking ball park...?

How long is a piece of string? Somewhere between a grand and ten grand...

I appreciate that may not be a helpful answer smile

I had a very early 16v non-turbo (I believe in the first dozen ever registered in the UK). It was in pretty good condition - tiny bit of rust on the rear wheelarches, but that was about it. 75k miles and full history

Couldn't sell it at £800 so I gave it to one of my sons

Prices have firmed up since then, but only for very good Coupes - anything that doesn't stand out is still pretty cheap.

Only the rarity value of the 16v N/A is in its favour at the moment

Barnacle's estimate is right, but I think his lower end is a bit high - there are still £500 cars out there

I know the car.

The owner's husband was the service manager of Cleveland Cars the local Fiat main dealership back in the early 2000's. The car has been looked after over the years.

Earlier this year he dropped by home ( he lives less than a mile away) to chat about what to do with it and for some idea of what it could be worth, he thought it was pretty well valueless at that time. I told him how rare they were and if I were in the market for it I would be quite happy to pay a couple of grand, but its value is what someone is prepared to pay.

It is a decent car and well worth looking at I suggest.

If it's any guide, my 16VT is insured for an agreed value of £5k.

Don't know of it helps as it was three years ago, but I bought my 'P' reg 16v with 87,000 on it with good history and only four owners and paid £1400
