The thing with electricity, Dave, is that you don't have to carry it around in tankers. *Provided* that companies can be persuaded to make parking space complete with a charging station available (interesting how twenty years ago they were *banned* from providing parking space for new blocks in the UK) then electricity generated on your roof can go into the grid and charge your car at work. Or push a tube train around. Or melt steel. Or power Bookface's server farms...
