Hi all,
Finally got hold of the Synapse valve that was the subject of the failed GB. Imported it myself from Nolimits Motorsport and had Power Italia fit it yesterday (thanks Ruben).
Just wanted to let you know that it does exactly what it claims, reducing the juddering caused by compressor surge, so very apparent when easing off the boost in 5th gear during motorway driving. It is much smoother with >90% reduction.
The sound coming through my K&N is much the same.
Not a cheap bit of kit, but worth the £200 I paid, just to get rid of that damn judder and I don't think any other DV can do this.

Went for the normal re-circ system, so no need to wait for anti-stall kit etc.
Sorry, no recording, but as mentioned, sounds just same as before.

Thx for your feedback Mark ! No problem, to be honest I thought people might show a bit more interest as this is a radically different design (no diaphragm) with no springs to play with or changes to make as you change boost/power levels etc and of course effectively eliminated compressor surge.

I am still interested in one of these, but following the fall through of the GB i spent the refund on a set of bad boys solid rear bushes Will probably look at getting one when the doller falls again and i go for a GT series turbo I know you havent got the VTA adaptor, but have you tried taking the recirc pipe off and bunging the intake pipe to see what it sounds like?? I've only just seen this thread and i'm interested in getting one. That coming off boost judder is driving me mad. It's worst when you're in a sweeping bend and wnat to moderate the throttle a little and it starts jumping all over the place. It can really upset the balance of the car. £200 is a bit much though...
I'll wait for a UK dealer to start selling them or maybe another GB someday?
F****** b****** thing...

I was on the previous GB, but after a long time waiting, I preferred to leave the gb ... and when I see the following events, I think I've well done;
In short I have bought nothing since and I am looking always a dv (I have a bailey dv30 : works very well, but I find the synapse solution particularly interesting for all the different mounts... )
in fact I am very anxious to put this dv on my car and wait to see if it works, or if it's a scam ...

I'll wait for a UK dealer to start selling them or maybe another GB someday? There is no supply problem with the re-circ version only the VTA version, since most people on here run re-circ I don't see why a GB could not proceed. I find the noise quite loud enough externally through my cone filter.

i thought that if you got sound out of your filter then that is compressor surge, which i thought you didnt want. its the air coming back the wrong way over the blades of the turbo and out of the filter. i may be wrong

Hi, Did not find that video or commentary very instructive. I think this is the vid which captures the surge symtoms (in my case also associated with engine vibration) before and then afer (gone). Mine does not sound as "clean" as that, still get a little flutter sound but no vibration. This example may have been DTA. Re-Circ on EVO This next one is re-circ and thus perhaps a better reference for my installation Re-circ on Evo
