I drove 35 miles each way to BJV (as recommended on here) 3 trips to drop off/collect 4 sets of wheels in total.

I still dont know if its drive shaft or not and their doing a health check on the rest of the car for me.......it felt like the drive shaft to me and barnacle so hopefully thats all it is.

DaveG - I'll check these guys out on the web....I was looking at wicked wheels as they come to you, but someone told me they were expensive

I can fully recommend these guys, had my LE wheels powder coated here, and 1.5 years later they still look like they did the day I picked them up......

The thing with refurbing wheels is not to leave them too long in a crap state before getting them done. There was a guy at BJV picking up a set of wheels that looked all nice and clean and everything but the surface was all ripply and uneven, yet the customer was happy: the original wheels had been in a dreadful state, the BJV guy compared them to another set he'd seen which looked like they'd been sat in sea water, and he said that jap alloys were generally poor quality. There's a limit to how much damage refurbing can make good, but they did a great job on one Momo wheel I had that had had a fight (and lost) against the monstrous kerbs at the Humber Bridge toll booths years ago.

Mine have got an awful lot of kurbing on them so I might need to source a decent set on 20VT's and get them refurbed and powder costed the correct colour. More expensive option, but they have to look perfect or whats the point....thats my opinion anyway

I did two sets, one of the wheels was terrible and when they came back I could not find which one that was. You will be amazed at the result.

As a second option, you could try city powder coaters in Birmingham. They have a deal running at the moment, 20 quid per wheel. I just had a set of 20vt wheels refurbed there a couple of weeks ago and they look fantastic. I haven't put them on the car yet, but I will before the brooklands meet.

Having had three sets done with these chaps, I recommend.

For the £80.00 you need to get the wheels to them without tyres on

With tyres =

Taken off - £5.00 per wheel
Taken off, put back on and balanced - £10.00 per wheel.

That sounds like a bargain.....how long does this take?

I'm assuming they will powder coat in anthracite?

It takes around 2-3 days, depends on how busy they are. They will coat in any colour you want mate!

I'd give them a paint code to do them in dj or you may be disappointed in the colour they come back in, some anthracite colours are too dark for the LE.

Do a search for LE paint code, there are several codes to choose from.

Coupedummy had his wheels refurbed by city powder coaters in their standard "anthracite" colour I believe. Have a look at his photos in the coupe projects area for pics.
